Got linked to a photographer making his name in the Syrian conflict. He's managed to snap a few photos that aren't blurry or full of fire and kudos to him for that.

Some interesting looking rifles over there:

I'm going to call this one all fail. Where are your mags bro?

Hey press pass you're calling fail all over these dudes but to them things are quite different on the two way range. Put that in your Tavor and smoke it.

The main fail isn't the lack of magazines but the fact that he reomved the rear stock of his weapon. Ive seen this alot in Africa, makes your AK portable but good luck hitting anything with it.

BTW is that kid married..?

TV so at what age do you think its ok to fight for your life??
Its a war zone not some bangers going to the quicky mart to act all "gang-star"
Im sure the kid is not doing it to be "cool".

Not my call. The UN's Convention on the Rights of the Child, Article 37, (1989)

"State parties shall take all feasible measures to ensure that persons who have not attained the age of 15 years do not take a direct part in hostilities."

Under Article 8(2)(b)(xxvi) of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court entered into force 1 July 2002; "Conscripting or enlisting children under the age of fifteen years into the national armed forces or using them to participate actively in hostilities" is a war crime.

I don't have a copy of that kids birth certificate. But if I were the photographer I'd be asking the question.

But there are definitely options. Even in war zones.

I would say that the red rifles forum is not an ideal venue to debate the Syrian conflict or international law.

I would say the red rifles forum is a good place to talk about interesting red rifles you might see.

Like an AK with a fab-defense rail system in a war-zone 200km north of Israel. That's interesting to me.

Those are some pretty serious images.

I know you're trying to make levity of it with the win/fail, but this is a bloody civil war, what the #### do we know about that? They're fighting for their nation! They're all winners in my book. Last one we had here was when my ancestors were firing mousquets (yes I'm a quebecquois) against the English in 1759.

You worried about trigger finger and safety, I think they mastered well beyond that already? These guys are worried about not getting holes punched through their bodies and maybe possibly seeing their wives/family again someday

On the subject of the Children soldiers, yes a child fighting in a warzone is a shame, however, without knowing more on each one pictured; these are not children stolen from their parents and forced to fight while hopped up on drugs. They are probably young adults who have taken up arms along side their family, friends, neighbors etc.

I know plenty of young people fought the Nazi's back in the day. A friends father served in the Dutch resistance and he was only 9 when he started, killing his first German at age 11. Many Jewish children and young people joined up in arms against their oppressors as well, as well as many others from other nations and faiths. It sucks, but that's the way it turns out.

Freaking water bottle fail. If you are going to pretend to be a soldier for the nice cameraman, at least put a belt on.

This is civilians posing with guns, not the 2-way range.
