October 4th, come out to Nanaimo and shoot the Service Rifle match I am running. I will have some some gear there.

The biggest drawbacks in my opinion:
- Poi shift from 1 to 4 power. (Guys are going to defend Elcan to the 9th degree indicating it doesn't exist, and they may well be right that they have not experienced it, but that gremlin is out there).
- Arms mount with that bloody spring holding the tension between optic and mount. Come on fellas, that was old news when I got out 15 years ago. Surely they can develop a better solution?
- The price is out to lunch. Ernest Lietz has good glass and that certainly translates over to the Elcan line of optics, but they need to offer more than good glass for a product that retails for close to $3000.
My last Elcan I used was a gen. 3 or 4 and it held zero decently for range use. It was bought and later sold for $600. It was priced accordingly for what it was.

The C79 is dead to me, and should have been binned as part of the C7A2 upgrade.
The OS4 is generations ahead of the C79 and the same price.
