On the lowlands down from where I grew up, snows would appear on barren corn fields in flocks of tens of thousands sometimes, stretching off to the horizon with no edge in sight. It does seem a bit late in the year for large numbers but only by a few weeks, and it's been a very late spring here in the east. Which is to say it's still cold as hell with daily rain. I live In Rankin Inlet, Nunavut. We had tons fly by here yesterday morning and a steady stream before that.
