Well friends from N. of the border... I know you can't own 'snubby's, but thought you might enjoy seeing some anyway..

Best Wishes,

JP ;)

Lots of us own them. We just can't import any more.

That's a nice looking lemon squeezer, but I think I'd take the Scandium model for beach wear. The CT grips are a nice touch.

Canuck223:

Well, guess folks who own them don't lose any money when they sell 'em?

Perhaps I spend a bit too much money on guns, and not enough on the homeplace?

Dude, some body up and stole your basement!!

Nice looking place. Up here we might find it harder to keep warm in the winter without some chinking between the logs.

Yeah... the 12.6 thing is a drag.
I'd love to hold an IDPA "belly gun" match, but.... I from what I can glean there aren't enough guys who own snubbies who could compete...

Here's a couple of mine:

It's a shame that your gun laws are so messed up. Can Canadian snub owners sell/transfer your guns? Who is allowed to purchase them and what do similar guns cost in Canada?

Yes, it is a shame. 12(6) class pistols can be sold between owners who are grandfathered into that class. If you sell all of your 12(6) pistols, you lose the grandfathering.

A 2 in S&W will run in the $250-400 range usually, depending on model and condition.

We used to run "Snubbie" matches at the local club, but we ended up with a lack of competitors. Nothing like watching someone shoot a course of fire with a Browning .25 and 2 magazines!

Laserlips,

The homestead looks just fine to me, very nice as a mater of fact!:D

Cool collcetion aswell!

JCM298,

You have to be rubbing it in our faces that we cannot own a gun built in our country. Your Para C6-45! ;)

Laserlips,

Thanks. I've been chastized on other forums because I altered the gun by having the shroud installed. All my guns are shooters, so it doesn't bother me.

Steve David,

"Rubbing it in" was not my intention and I hope I did not offend anybody. I completely forgot that you Canucks are prevented from owning certain guns. It does seem starnge that you can't own something made in your own country.

When I post on this forum, I forget that it's based in a "foreign country" because I feel at home here. Since my folks were from NB and I went to college in NS, I don't really feel like an outsider. (NOTE: College was before my service in the US Army. I didn't dodge the draft.) Most of my family still live in Canada and they are scattered from Halifax to Vancouver.

I did see the :) so I assume you are not offended. Are both of my Para's banned/restricted/prohibited?

John

Both Paras are banned here (need at least 4.20ish inch barrel). Basically the gun banners wanted some criteria to ban most legally owned handguns so......4 inches being the norm, arbitrarily said barrels had to be 106mm+. Many of us own these, but newer designs, like these Paras, were not owned when the ban came in, and so we can't get them. If you had a regular P12 prior to the ban, fine.

I have always wondered how these new Paras are for carry guns. They seem heavy, when you consider polymer options.

Deckard,

I see you got my PM. Although I've owned two Glocks, a 26 and a 30, and never had a problem with either, I never liked them. Glocks have no soul.

To win a gun fight it's the shooter that has to have the soul, not the gun. The pistol just has to function. And a Glock can do that. ;) :p
