So... does anyone else get right squirrely when they're waiting for a transfer?

Not surprisingly I've called and been told the opposite. Said the ATT states need reg cert so you need to wait. I've read from people that've been told both. Nothing like clear rules.

You don't need to wait until your reg certificates come to take it out of the house. Your ATT will cover you until the docs come.

I called the CFP to ask for an email copy of my new reg form. They told me that as long as I had my ATT, this would cover me until the reg came in the mail.

If you're at all concerned in the future, call and confirm. But this will be my routine from now on. ,

My transfer within Ontario a week. But then again, my wife's RPAL got "auto approved" and arrived weeks before mine did even though they were completed exactly the same, and submitted at the same time.

Weird, I did a transfer last week, started at 3:30 pm on a Tuesday, by 9:30 am on Wednesday it was done, and they emailed me a PDF of the registration and statt so I could pick it up ASAP.

They must have gotten scolded by the boss. Last couple transfers I've done on restricted's I've sold to guys in Ontario took forever, one was 3 weeks and the other was almost 2 months. I didn't like that I had taken his money but wasn't allowed to ship to him for so long.
Good to hear they have smartened up a little.
Fastest I've had a transfer completed with registration and STATT sitting in my inbox was about 20 minutes a couple years ago when I bought my Glock 21. Seller called to initiate the transfer and passed the phone to me, I completed the transfer and told the nice lady I had driven 3 hours to do the deal and would like to take it home with me and she emailed everything right away :D

My restricted transfers were done in Ontario and took about 5 days. I get more squirrelly waiting for the order to be processed and shipped and inevitably picked up

Called the CFO's office this morning and the transfer was complete. But the thing was it was a sleepless night... I WANTED TO PLAY WITH MY NEW TOY!!!! So of course, once I had the e-mail sent from the CFO for my STATT and transfer form, my co worker and I dropped everything (okay, we were slacking off since the boss was away, keeping occupied playing phone tag with customers to see how things were on their end) and headed to P&D to pick up my AR. Dropped it off at home, went for lunch, slacked off some more, left the shop early, and then went to the range.

Only crappy thing is now I actually have to do some WORK tomorrow. :p

And yeah, TVPP... shipments drive me even MORE bonkers. I watched for TWO WEEKS as the Ohlin's shock I ordered for the Blackbird crawled its way here from North Carolina. Probably going to be the same thing when I order my race boots from Revzilla next pay day.

Just bought a Sig P226. I'm in Alberta, dealer is in BC. Day 2 of waiting, and I'm already anxious. When you pay a bit of money for an item, it tends to add to the "Squirrley" feeling.

Still, nothing like opening a box and handling that new gun for the first time. I'd bottle that feeling and sell it if I could.

Just be glad you're in Alberta and not Ontario. Your transfer will be done in 24 hours, over there you'd be lucky to have it in 2 months.
Actually Ontario has been really good, maybe 2 or 3 days...Now try Quebec...I've sold a CQA to a nice kid over there and it's been two weeks...He talked to his CFO office and the lady told him that these type of firearms have to got through some kind of committee to be approved...What a load of crap...they are lying to him and that is just harassment.

Im in QC as well, my 1st AR was 7 days...keep calling them!

Got off the phone with the CFO rep this morning.
Just got approuved !
Started the 10th and approuved yesterday the 26th.
Now I wonder when the dealer will ship ? Do they have other means to know the approuval beside a cession letter ?
If they have to wait for a letter, they will probably ship next week once they receive it.

CCan't wait to fire that Colt LE6920 Socom !

for me its the shipment wait times, i check the tracking numbers a couple times a day like the info is going to change or something hahah. never had a problem with the transfer, i just phone the CFO and it gets done immediately

Some are brutal. I had a lot of money tied up in a Purolator Parcel that left SW Ontario. Being firearms related I saw it sat in the Toronto Sort facility for 7 days. No updates. Thinking my parcel got pulled for inspection or something I waited. All of sudden I get an email not "Item out for delivery". Not even a "left TO sort facility" "accepted Calgary sort facility" etc... A breath of relief was had that day

Call the dealer with the reference number, they can ship it once confirmed! they can ask for a fax etc...

My AR is shipped . Now I am squirrly. Hitting the CP App 3 times a days to track it.

Mush

On the day anything I'm waiting for is supposed to be delivered, the UPS web page stays open and is refreshed every five minutes. I generally ease the pain of waiting for large items by buying every accessory known to man and scheduling deliveries for every few days. I've been waiting for a Tanfoglio to arrive in Canada for months! Despite not being able to take possession before I return to Canada in May, I check on the thing just about every day. I have ammo, mags, magazine pouches, a holster and a dedicated belt all ready for it. Otherwise I'm perfectly normal.:runaway:

Transfers never bother me.

But shipments? Shipments drive me up the wall.

There is no worse feeling that watching the tracking number for your new AR-15 hang around for days, and then see it abruptly shift to "delivered" while your sitting in your office. Some squiggly signature appears in the online info and you bail out on a "sick day" to secure your awkwardly abandoned rifle.

Yep....absolutely right on. When anything is given over to whatever delivery company's hands, thats the time to say a quick prayer.

I bought a lower March 25th, QC CFO approved it April 8th, about 2 weeks, 10 business days!
I called back in between a few times, RCMP confirms it was approved.

Called the QC CFO today and the person who answered, (good guy btw) doesn't understand why I haven't received anything.
He puts me on hold and checks, comes back and tells he doesn't know why but they never printed or mailed the transfer's.
It was just sitting there approved...he apologized and said they will be mailed out tomorrow morning!

Ahhhhh living in QC....
f:P:
