So, how many pistols do you own and...

Hi dannyair,

I have found that in order to buy a gun I fancy I have to sell one, usually. So that's what I have been doing for quite awhile now and been really enjoying the process ;) . I have "met" a lot of great gunnutz and had lots of fun, getting to try many different types of pistols whilst spending very little...I just keep recycling the same money. :)

Happy shopping!

Awesome! I think we're keeping our dealers and the CFC busy by the sounds of it. I always wondered why it took so long for a transfer. Now I know it's because of us Gun Nutz! My fav gun shop is busier then a 7Eleven!

Currently 1, my first purchase a sig 226

i would love to get a .22 but I can't decide what to look at. :) and a 1911

Nine since December. (The money ran out or I'd have a dozen by now. :()
2 broomhandles: 7.63x25 Mauser C96
2 tupperware: 9x19 BUL Cherokee and .40 Steyr
2 Norcs: 9x19 NZ85 and 7.62x25 Tokarev
2 wheelguns: .357 S&W and .455 Webley
1 target pistol: .22 LR of course

Wants:
.32 S&W 1857 model I saw at Lovette's
.45 or .44-40 SA revolver (Jackie at Shooter's Choice showed me a beautiful Uberti Evil Roy )
.36 or .44 cap-and-ball revolver
Most of all, a Luger. Any Luger. I'd love a Stoeger stainless steel with a 6" barrel like in King Kong.

Hell, it's only money.

Question is... just one more is never enough anyway, is it?

Wow! Would love to see a pic or two of your collection! Sweet! Any old 1911's?

If money wasn't a factor, I would have 2 of each pistol ever created. Alas, moeny is a factor and I'm married. 2 strikes when it comes to collecting pistols. Although i don't own that many, I've owned at least 15 pistols withing the last year. But alas, I have to sell in order to acquire. I condition that god willing, will not last forever :)

The good thing about handgun collecting (buying) is that you can about 6 of them in the space of 1 rifle... Oddly enough, they used 1/50 the wood and 1/10 the metal, yet they cost the same

My word of advise for the day... stay away from high quality pistol as long as you can. When you try them and realize how much nicer they are, you'll start thinning the herd to have fewer nice guns... :)

Collecting Handguns

I had a large collection at one time over 100 handguns now down to 15 or so. Sold all my Lugers, and other neat stuff like that but have mostly prohibs.

I think the fun is finding them not so much having them for ever. If I kept all of the guns I ever bought I would have a gun room the size of a warehouse.

I have probably gone through a few thousand guns over the years and kept only a few of them. Went through the WWII phase, black rifles, black powder, 22 trainers, and converted autos, Now back into bolt guns, Enfields, Springfields, & Mausers.

Don't let guns take up all your spare time, you have to strike a balence. Family time and toy time, if you are taking away from the family income to buy toys you are in for trouble. I turned the profit of gun sales over to my wife and she bought things like TV's, furniture, trailers, trips, and things like that. It was another form of income and being part Scottish she spent it wisely.

Passed my RPAL/PAL May 21st... May 22nd I paid off a .40S&W Baby Eagle. - Of course they're holding it for me till my PAL gets in... but just on Monday- stroll to the store/range to say whatsup and shoot a bit... i ended up buying a 9mm Springfield XD Tactical... So PAL - not here yet (infact confirmation they just received it on friday... so another month or two to go...) and I already have two pistols... Thinking a 1911 for my 3rd :D but I think i'll wait till I can start bringing these things home lol they already joked that i'd have 3 or 4 before my PAL gets here :S
