So, how many pistols do you own and...

Vygur...I have 4 pistols and no PAL yet. Waiting for it to arrive. Probably looking at early to mid July. My gun range is fantastic and is storing my guns free of charge until it arrives (of course I bought a membership at their facility and have spent over $3k there in the last 5 weeks!)

CanadianDad: Ok... well now i will no longer wait ... I must beat you in the gunwhore before PAL arrives group LOL:) 1911 and Beretta 90two maybe... or that beretta U22 for my friends to shoot lol.

The good thing about handgun collecting (buying) is that you can about 6 of them in the space of 1 rifle... Oddly enough, they used 1/50 the wood and 1/10 the metal, yet they cost the same

My word of advise for the day... stay away from high quality pistol as long as you can. When you try them and realize how much nicer they are, you'll start thinning the herd to have fewer nice guns... :)

Well, I've reached that point at the ripe old age of 34! Going for quality over quantity these days. At the highest point I had a little over 100+. Over the years I've bought/sold/traded guns back and forth to add to the collection or obtain a particular gun I had been looking for. Last fall I was in the position of really having a need to buy another safe, as I had guns in racks & stuck in just about every corner of my reloading room/library. (non-restricteds or course, with trigger-locks installed, all restricteds were properly stored in my gun safes) & I came to the decision to start thinning the herd, keeping only the guns that I use on a regular basis, have a special signifigance/sentimental value or are particularly valuable.

The rest have been sold off or will be sold off. In turn, I've added a number of collector grade Colt 1911s to the collection, added to my Detonics collection and picked up a couple more Black rifles. Funny though, over the past couple of months I've also bought 3 bolt action .22s, even though I've already got at least another 5-6 .22 rimfire rifles in the rack/safes. The most recent acquisitions, however, will be held in trust for my new nephew until he's big enough to hold both ends of the rifle off the ground at the same time...maybe in 3 years!:D

I had a pretty decent mil-surp collection, as well. Pretty much all that is left now is a cherry pre-war SA M-1 Garand, cherry Savage No. 4 Lee-Enfield & an M-38 Swede. I still plan on replacing my collector grade Long Branch eventually...just a matter of priorites right now.:)

Good on you younger guys, just entering the sport, to have built such nice collections so quickly! Isn't it great to be young, single & have tons of disposable cash?:D

Okay so after reading all your posts it appears that I'm not so bad after all. In fact just yesterday I went and bought one of those CZ858-2's. It looks pretty cool and I almost don't want to take it out of the plastic sealing to shoot it but of course I will. It's not like it's any sort of a collectors item or anything like that. It looks similiar to an AK. I 'm waiting for a Dan Wesson Pointman 7 and a Dan Wesson Bobtail 1911. Those should be sweet. Also a Taurus Raging Bull 44 all stainless, Sig Mosquetto in reverse two tone, Springfield GI45 all stainless, waiting for my Colt AR to arrive I just bought off the EE and always looking to buy a nice Remington Rand 1911 or original Colt 1911's. Hard to find them in original condition.

Looks like I have some catching up to do here, only have 5 pistols at the moment.

S&W mod 28, Beretta 92S, Beretta NEOS, High Standard Sport King, and a newly acquired HiPower :D
