So, I am clearly a (Glock) Genius.

I can't recall which gun it was now, but I also had a spring do sudden expletive laden disappearing act. It flew into a part of the basement I was storing crap leading up to a move and there was no way to get in there without a day's work.

My geniuser moment: Attached some little rare earth magnets to the cat, and threw a bunch of cat treats into every nook and cranny I could find. Not only did I get my spring back, but also a socket, countless drywall screws, and the little grate to the basement floor drain. Oops.

Lmao. Did the cat find the spring? Ingenious.

Emptying the central vac (or shop vac canister) and vacuuming everything and then checking the canister works too. You can get both jobs done at the same time.

I just know the last time i attached anything on a cat, it freaked out and never saw it for a week

Imagine all the stuff that would be stuck to the cat after a week!

Luckily I have a very OCD wife, so if I lose something she'll spend HOURS searching for it. Rarely does she give up - and when she does it usually bothers her enough that she goes back to looking the next day.

Also been lucky enough to not lose any tiny gun parts, but I've lost my share of tiny screws for electronics and other stuff, so I know the feeling. The best is when you loose a screw for your glasses, because now you can't even see what you are looking for! lol

i was out in my shop one day working on a gun when my thumb slipped and she 'xploded.
nothing worse then hearing something land about 20 feet behind you in the ruff stock scrap piles.
thankfully i have 3 kids and some of those big magnets on a stick.

i like hearing of other people doing the same thing.
we should start a support group or something.

Yep did the exact same thing with my brand new sig 226 except I lost the shear spring, had to search my garage for a whole week to find that stupid part
