So far my test on bare metal ,it doesnt look to be corrosive compared to 8mm surplus
Really...
Explain the differance one just two of these web site compared to what bs lever is telling ya:

I bought that ammo from lever arms

this is the one leverarms.com/ammo/rifle/chinese-military-surplus-7-62x39-fmj-non-corrosive.html

this one http://www.tradeexcanada.com/conten...on-1440rd-cases-free-shipping-offer-out-stock ,looks the same but the tool to open the cans looks different.

a fast search found this thingsmilitary.com/ammunition/7.62x39-fmj-non-cor.-1440rds-only-374.95/ which appears to be the same and non corrosive

I also have a crate of lever's 7.62x39 non Corrosive. Im new to this so bare with me, but the top number on these rounds is the factory, bottom number is the year.
So when i cut open a spam can, and looked at the "non-corrosive" ammo it says its made in factory 31 in 1972. So, now im not so sure.. where they making NC that far back?
the cartridges themselves have green steel cases. rounds are packaged in 20's wrapped in paper

mine has the same 32 and 72 number on the base , can anyone please confirm this ammo is indeed non corrosive ?

jut my 2c here , but whats the big deal about corrosive/non corrosive. Anybody with any self respect will clean the the rifle after shooting it anyway.if your gonna leave a rifle for a week without cleaning it...........................nuff said :)

I pull the bullets and fire the primers onto bare carbon steel degreased and clean no oil. Fired the norinco and as a control rem commercial 7.62 and then some surplus 8mm that is very corrosive after 1 week the norinco and remington showed slight staining ,the 8mm showed aggressive corrosion. Non-corrosive doesn't mean you you can leave the guns dirty and expect nothing to happen. just my 2c

Was just at Lever today, the cabinet is full of nice dark birch units. Sale is over tomorrow. So you fence-sitters might want to hustle. Apocalypse notwithstanding.

went to lever once...buddy gave harsh attitude so i never went back, but now i see some some good ammo there for a decent price...haha what to do? what to do?

Sorry I never had them on my site for 150 dollars. Lever is dumping their stock. Mine are unrefurbished and unfired I think my prices very good compare to other dealers. Also why is Lever arms is even discussed here so much. They are not even supporters of this site. We all other dealers pay advertising fees and this is only thing that makes this site going for so many years.

Cheers

Al

I don't see any $150. SKS on your site ?

LOL.... You think after all these years you would have woke up and smelt the roses. Let your "Quality SKS's" sell themselves. That is what Lever is doing and they are selling alot.

I don't see why anyone would go to Lever, for few pennies less you will get an inferior product and be treated poorly.

We are lucky to have couple of excellent retailers that carry SKS, right here on CGN.

Westrifle, tradeex and weimajack should be your best bets.

Used to be the pin welded to the follower arm was 'most desirable' lol...wut? It doesn't matter how it's pinned or if it's 'unissued'/'unfired' either if all you're going to do is shoot it. Pinning method doesn't affect the function at all.

If you can get one in person from Lever, you can save the hundred bucks for ammo.

I went to Lever a few months ago to buy some stripper clips and a front sight tool for my first SKS...I also had a few hundred bucks in my pocket..cash

I was was treated like a major hassle by the staff...I was about to ask to look at the SKS's when the dude pretty much rolled his eyes cause I asked him to grab me some stripper clips.

Move forward a few weeks and I bought my second SKS from Westrifle...it showed up in mint condition, however the receiver cover wasn't numbers matching. Couple e-mails back and forth and (won't use his name here) insists on delivering a replacement...even nicer than the first....in person !! Then stuck around for another half hour to chat about the firearm, the business..a little bit of everything.

Earned my respect and future business instantly.....that is how you treat a paying customer...even if they are just asking for stripper clips.

Are they $150 ?...no....are you getting the best of what's left out there? ....yes.

I have held off from posting but can't resist. I recently went in to Lever to make a large purchase. Multiple guns and ammo. Now I have experienced their bad service before but I am a patient guy, live relatively close by and mostly I am a cheap basterd so I have continued to go back. However after this last time I will never go back.

I am not the sort to type up a big rant on the internet. That being said there is no way I could ever in good conscience recommend someone to purchase from Lever. I know at least some of the Lever staff come on this site, I hope they are reading this.
