Went to lever to buy an sks today... One of the employees was grabbing a rifle from the selection of sks rifles they had to ship to an online buyer, he grabbed the only black bolt, completely painted, and with black bayonet rifle there was. Out of all the ones on the rack.. even the rear leaf sight was a parkerized one. There were some nice ones too. This had nothing to do with me but I felt my stomach churn for whomever was going to get that rifle in the mail! The whole rifle was bubbad from the refurb.

You think Lever is the only one doing that? But you are right in a sense that Lever employees always act as if they are doing you a favour. I am not going there anymore, small selection and high prices. Have you checked how much they charge for shipping? I am surprised anybody orders from them online.

Sorry I never had them on my site for 150 dollars. Lever is dumping their stock. Mine are unrefurbished and unfired I think my prices very good compare to other dealers. Also why is Lever arms is even discussed here so much. They are not even supporters of this site. We all other dealers pay advertising fees and this is only thing that makes this site going for so many years.
Cheers

Al

Well that's an interesting opinion.
So you are saying the 97,000 + members on this site should only talk about what site sponsors have to offer ?
This is the firearm & optic forum where gunnutz can discuss the things that make us gunnutz.
We are not hot linking to any non sponsor we are not posting any non sponsors web site or phone # .
Dealers pay advertising fees (as you say) To advertise in the dealer forum .
I don't think Lever is dumping their SKS's . They just had a sale that's all . You can't compare your SKS rifles to Lever SKS rifles
No one expects a collector grade rifle for $150. Believe it or not a lot of people just want cheap rifle to go with the cheap ammo
The surplus SKS is the Lee Enfield of the 21st century . And with so many of them in Canada it will be a long time before the appreciate in value .
The $150 SKS is the $29. Lee Enfield of the 1960's. ;)

I could not agree with you more. Maybe the Westrifle boys will loose the arrogance towards other dealers that sell the same product. There are dealers that need CGN as a selling tool and there are dealers that don't.

I have no dog in this fight but-
I had been thinking of buying an SKS for a while and even with prices of $ 200-250 I had been holding off.
Lever had their sale so I bought one. Even with shipping it was less than $200. Didn't need anything fancy, just a shooter.
I found their ordering process different, but obviously it works for them. The person I dealt with was, while not friendly, efficient.
I got my rifle quickly and with a quick inspection looks in good shape with matching numbers.
My only complaint is I asked for a 1953 and got a 1952. Oh well. Maybe they didn't have a '53.
Not enough to make a big deal about. At least I can say my rifle is older than me!

It is obvious to me the OP is talking about quality not the price of the rifles. And that’s why Westrifle with multiple pics of every rifle in stock is much more superior to any other on line store that doesn’t let you see what you’re buying. Just my 00.2

Pictures only tell part of the story not the whole story. The best way to buy anything is in person, then there is no disappointment. Lots of great "Quality SKS's" accross Canada from Home Hardware to Canadian Tire and all gun stores in between.

Lever Arms might not be the dealer for the faint of heart. Don't expect a love-fest from them at anytime. Just put your big boy face on, get what you want, and forget about them.

Terrible store! I have been there many times, hoping my bad experiences were just coincidence, but I can't say they were. I find the staff to be extremely rude. I believe the only thing keeping them in business, is the prices they have on ammo and the SKS. By the way, you can get an SKS from Italian for $199 as well, AND THEY ARE ALREADY CLEAN AND DEGREASED!

It's a gun shop. What the heck do you people want, a friggin B.J. And a latte?

I think part of this might be due to how some of you people look... Maybe the other men aren't showing you respect because you're "low T", if you get my drift.

Go in and say what you've got to say, get your gun and go home. I don't go into a gas station and ask to touch all the smokes. Frig...
