Hey guys,

So I ordered an SA20 not long ago from a site sponsor, and it came in the mail today. Unfortunately, it looks like it had a bit of a bumpy ride...see pics below.

As you can see, it looks like some of the finish on the fsb is a little worn off, possibly from the transit?

When I picked up the box I could hear the mag rattling around against the rifle:

It also seems to have been shipped with the flip up sight flipped UP (I know it is backwards):

A couple scratches on the upper receiver:

And a little CC pr0n, sitting next to her little sister:

Obviously the "damage" appears minimal, and is purely cosmetic, but I guess I am just wondering if this is acceptable? Do I chalk it up to poor packaging and shipping by the vendor, or does it seem more like a CanadaPost problem? What do you guys think?

I have seen some pics of rifles that were shipped in plastic, with BCG separate also in plastic, and a mag also wrapped in plastic. Were these just IOP guys? Guys that got them straight from Korth maybe?

IOP Guns were extremely well packed...

But that flip up sight might of gotten deployed due to the rough handling from C.P,

I would send that back to the seller and request a new one. and tell him to pack it properly... Loose mag in the box FFS....

Doesn't look like factory packaging. All three of mine were in plastic with the mag and BCG in separate plastic. Rear sights were folded down. Perhaps yours was a demo or floor model? Did it come in the Colt Canada box? I see you are in YYC, could you have not gone to a local gun store and avoided the shipping risk/cost?

Thats depressing... Definately not packed the greatest... If your package isnt ready to survive a couple 10 foot drops you shouldnt send it. Sad but true.

I'm always stressed when I order a firearm and have it shipped. I've been lucky so far as the shippers have done their job and made it secure. That always puts them at the top of my list when I want to order another one.

wow that's a horrible packing job, doesn't look right to me, something is up. That's not acceptable. I wrap Xmas presents better than that.

That is bad packaging. I'm not sure if that's how it is from factory or not but when I ship a firearm I wrap it in bubble wrap or other padding inside the box so that doesn't happen.

What you have there is the result of poor packing and shipping, period. Sadly, complaining to CanadaPost is futile but I'd for sure drop the vendor a line to tell 'em to maybe improve their packaging process. Nice rifle by the way, happy shooting.

I received my SA 20 from Korth last month and everything was packed individually in plastic in one box and that box was inside another. That was the shippers fault plain and simple.

Shipped incorrectly...
By this I mean the item was incorrectly packaged.
The mag should not have been allowed to rattle around inside the box and the firearm should have been secured from movement as well.
Not to mention the front sight should have had extra pkging to prevent it from protruding from the pkging.
But, that is the obvious....

Wow! That sucks totally. I hate lazy vendors. Totally unacceptable packing job! Spoils the joy of receiving a new rifle, especially a limited edition like the SA20.

Which vendor so we all can avoid having a damaged gun because of poor shipping. Looks like it was a hastily packed demo model. That's my fear of buying online is the dealer sendi me a demo model with damage or handling marks and handled case contents. I always ask for in writing brand new in box, non demo floor model. You are paying for a new gun, dealer should have told you it was a demo, no other reason for the packaging to be like that.

Odd, sounds like you might have gotten a floor model if it came packed like that
What did the dealer say?
