So what do you all consider your favorite utility rifle?

Ruger ranch Stainless with a butler creek stock. if i don't plan on shooting anything and its just insurance or opportunity i don't want to coddle it. besides beating around in the truck cant possibly make it any less accurate than it already is heh heh.

x2. stainless in and out so it wont rust, no maintenance, no cleaning needed, and 5" at 100 yards is good enough for most things (like when you drive up to your cottage and find the place overrun by #%$^ing beavers...grrr).

I use an Savage 99 in 30-30 or my IGA .410 short-barreled backpacker shotgun, and my VZ 858 will also work in a pinch.

No.4 mk1 sporter Savage.

Right now, it's my Lee Enfield .303 British; good round and a good rifle, with iron sights, a 4 round mag, and fast bolt action.

Future; trying to find a good lever action Marlin 30-30, preferably with the hammer safety. That'll be my back o' the truck fave then.

I've got a fully sporterized crown grade husquavarna m96 in 6.5 swede, custom wood stock, machined barrel to remove the steps, timney trigger, topped with a Burris 4-14x42. I took my first deer and my last coyote with it :D

It's in my truck right now! :)
