So what do you all consider your favorite utility rifle?

I only carry a rifle if there is an open season and I have a tag in my pocket... if I have multiple tags and am not specifically hunting for anything, I usually keep my Ruger 7.62X57 HC in the back, with 180 Accubonds. If I am actually serious about hunting it will depend on what/where/when & how... the "why" is usually; "to fill the freezer."

I have a short Wingmaster that stays with me at the cottage but it is : just there " like an adjustable wrench or a pair of pliers . Like you I normally only carry a rifle during an open season and it's almost always my Ruger single shot .
