So, what do you think happened?

I’ve seen too many failures for me to even think about buying anything Norinco except ammo.

Lol, I trust their rifles more than their ammo. I'll never run their ammo in any of my nice guns.
7.62x39 is the only ammo of theirs I would use without worry, 7.62x51 I would only use in a Norc or Poly M-14, 5.56 will never see any of my rifles.

Or just keep personal information and personal business off the internet. Posting drunken pics of yourself out partying with buddies showing what a responsible member of society you've grown into won't score you too many points with an employer.
I don't participate in social media like FB anymore and don't feel like I'm missing anything in life. Plenty of better ways to waste my time.

Yeah, we can come here and listen to people go on about how they don't use facebook...

If its not just bad manufacture, i suspect some of that grease found its way into the chamber and lubed the case, preventing it from expanding and sticking to the chamber upon firing, resulting in a little bit of overpressure but an excessive amount of force on the bolt and locking lugs. Virtually every operators manual says dont oil the chamber, but I bet a Springfield would have held up.

Thats my guess anyways.

Sounds like a reasonable explanation. Thats a lot of grease, I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest to learn that some of it got into the chamber. Excessive bolt thrust is not a good thing... Chances are we'll never know the real answer though, this will just lead a to a lot of speculation, and a bunch of Norinco bashing.

I saw that thread over on FB, I even commented that i would be willing to take a look at it to see if it wa salvageable....

Here’s my internet speculation.....

Brittle bolt, compounded with too much grease. As a previous poster stated; grease in chamber drastically increases bolt thrust. The bolt was brittle so it failed, if it was soft it would have just bent. The only way both lugs fail at the same time is if the case is slippery in the chamber and has no grip.

End speculation

Ya know, if you’re ever suspicious of your rifles heat treatment, for under $100 you can have the reciever and bolt annealed and heatreated properly... of course the rifle would need to be disassembled, and the reciever/Bolt would look ugly as the metal would be unfinished, but that’s a good excuse to have it refinished.

that bolt was defiantly not to soft, which was/is the American bolt story. I have purchased a few M-305 shorty's in the last 3 years or so, none had any major problems. All needed the barrels indexed however and one had a to short firing pin. Also, all needed the front sight protector wings welded higher to do what they are there for.

Given the fact that it is now allowed for an employer to request access to your Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, snap, etc. It is your right to refuse, it is also your employers right to terminate you and pay you your severance or not hire you for any reason under the sun.
I would strongly advise people over the age of 18 to wipe all their social presence.

Luckily I am self employed ...

That's not good advice, it's 2017 right now, and if you have no social media presence it looks really bad when you're looking for work. What employers look for mostly is to see if they're hiring a liability, IE some crazy social justice warrior or right wing blowhard.

If you're competing for jobs from last century, like the trades etc, it doesn't matter you can post whatever you want.

Its similar to people who use the dark net. Sure, nobody knows what you're doing there, but the simple fact you're not on the regular internet raises all sorts of flags.

From what I could see, he's got too much grease on the bolt and op rod and it looks like bearing grease, much thicker than lubriplate or white lithium which are what you're supposed to use. You're only supposed to put a coulple dabs with a toothpick in a few critical areas, but he looks to have put it on like strawberry jam on texas toast. Too much grease and grease too thick will add load to the moving parts and if it was cold at all that grease gets very stiff, even lubriplate. I made an SKS inoperable because of too much lubrilpate and -30C, luckily that was before I tried to load it (couldn't pull the bolt open). $.02

Is the "dark net" the same as using incognito tabs? I'm in my 40's and don't care to learn much more than what I need for work when it comes to computers and social media.
I don't understand why everyone is so hung up on social media. I gave up on FB because I got tired of reading stupid posts from people telling everyone what they are doing all day, seeing pictures of peoples lunch or their latest and greatest meaningless tattoo. It just seems so fake and like people are trying so hard to prove they're not a waste of a life that they do nothing but post stupid crap all the time.
I understand it more from the younger twenty-somethings since they kinda grew up in the middle of it but it's just so silly to be posting everything you do for everyone you know and don't know to see. Does anyone actually care what your lunch at restaurant X looked like when it comes to the table? Does anyone actually care about your new tattoo that has no meaning to your life but you thought it looked cool?

If I was hiring and I could tell the applicant was a party person and likes going out and getting drunk I'm probably not going to hire that person as I doubt they are going to be reliable and I'd have to find coverage for a lot of Saturday and Sunday dayshifts.
Depending on the type of job that a person is applying for they also need to consider than a lot of visible ink, especially on the neck and hands is not very professional and it will affect your job opportunities. Would you rather hire a nerdy guy that's probably going to be OCD and show up on time every day or a guy that tries to look like a rock star? I'm hiring Mr. Reliable given the choice.
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against tattoos but I think they should mean something to you if you're going to mark your body for the rest of your life, and a person needs to be aware of how their decisions on the placement of these tattoos is going to affect their life later on when you're married and have kids and/or want a career instead of a job.

No, not even close. Google it.

Lol, got one of the young fellers here to tell me about it. Sounds like a great place to do drug deals if you don't like using your phone.
I'm sure the government can track you on there as well so I'll just stick to not doing anything on the computer I need to hide.

I had a buddy that was running Norinco 5.56 through his Tavor. He stopped when shooting in the evening once and noticed occasional flashes of birning powder coming out of the ejection port.

Its 2017. They have dark web on phones now. And no, the government can't trace your actions there back to you, if you know what you are doing, which is the point.

Did it go away when he stopped using it? Kinda weird but I'm more concerned with the undersized projectiles key-holing, the bi-metal jacketing on some lots of ammo (not all and seems random) that will wear out a barrel much faster than copper jacketing, once fired brass with split necks, and just general Norinco inconsistency. I hate their brass, when reloading pistol I can feel the difference as soon a piece of Norinco brass hits the die so I separate it and give it away to friends who are less picky.
If shooting it through a cheap firearm I'd be less concerned but most of my rifles and pistols have good barrels that I don't care to wear out faster just to save a few dollars on ammo.

Good thing I don't try to use it, I would have no idea. I'll just stick to using the regular internet and not doing things I need to hide. I doubt you're actually invisible on there, the gov can hack your phone and know your location, watch through your camera, and record your conversations if they want to so privacy is pretty much a thing of the past. Hell, half the apps on your phone have access to your pics, camera, and mic and you gave them permission to do that when you installed them.
Tin-foil hat off, I just don't do things I need to hide so I don't worry about being sneaky.
