Ok. Bad explanation on my part. Never would I ,nor any of my group ever shoot at anything unless we have a clear view and know where we all are. All I meant was that if a fast follow up shot was required the semi auto would give me an edge. Safety comes first. As always!
 
Beer gets a 525 gr lyman slug from my Mossberg 930 12 gauge.

Deer gets a 160 gr leverevolution from my Savage 340 C 30/30.

Canada Geese with get BB shot from my Mossberg 930 12 gauge.
 
Got my Norinco M305S fitted out with a Leopuld Rifleman 2x7, and in case I see Bambi on the side of the road, I have my Swedish Model 1912 Krag carbine in 6.5x55. (sporterized, with iron sights)
 
am taking the gun I shoot the most, my chinese sks with 4-12 vortex scope for deer.
Moose will be brno model 584, 308/12 gauge combination gun, if it works out.
grouse will be the same gun.
 
Loaded some 53grTSX's in the .223 and can't wait to see how they shoot. Would like to try it on deer this fall. If they spray like a skeet choke then I'll break out the Gov't just like every other year.
 
.338RUM 700 for things that are far.
45-70 1895G for things that are near.
.308 Ruger Gunsite if I'm not too sure which of the above I need.
.243 Sav 12FV for things that bark.

One of my 12ga or .410 for ditch chickens.

Back up:
Mossberg 100ATR .308. 165gn Remington PSP ahead of 43.5gn WC735.

Deer:
Open Country - Same .30-06
Closed Country - Remington 799 in 762x39mm using 125gn PRVI ammo.
Bush bashing - 1898 Lee Enfield Carbine, iron sights, 200gn jacketed bullet ahead of 38gn WC735.

Coyote and wolf...any one of a dozen other mmilsurps.
 
Rem 700 in 7mm RUM with a 160gr Accubond for prarie mulies.

Shoots like a "shark with a frickin' laser beam attached to it's head".
