Bought a Broomhandle Mauser C96 about 1954-55, full wood holster/stock. We could buy Kynoch 7.63 ammo locally. If memory serves the ammo came in a box of 20 already loaded into 10 round stripper clips. Shot it a lot for 3 or 4 years and then sold it for a 50% profit, which was $75 total.
I got two at the same time, a 1903 Colt 380 pocket gun, and a C96 broomhandle. As for pellet guns, I also aquired a Walther luftpistole model 53, crosman 1400, and a Gecado model 22.
back in the 80s the first handgun i picked up was from John Williams. it was a Astra (sp) in 44mag with a 4 inch barrel, nice little revolver. she kicked like a pissed mule and in hindsight regret selling it.
now i focus on .45acp in glock and 1911's. you can never have too many 1911's
Inglis 9mm (browning) ww2 issue from my Grandfather, original holster, 2 mags and original ammo. Got it when i was 13, im 30 now and i've still never fired it, prob never will.
