So when are the Tikka T3's going on sale in anticipation of the T3x's ??? (!)

Just saw one today at Epps..a T3 Hunter-wood stock with stainless fluted barrel in 270 win.,unfired in the box! Too bad by wallet did not cooperate-899 plus tax-but she was a beauty!

... it's shorter than 30-06, but yes, long action... and perfectly suited to a T3. I am going to wait until December and I'm going to special order a wood-stocked Battue T3x in 6.5x55. It would be a perfect companion for me. Nobody has a Battue T3 in stock in 6.5x55.

Just informed, via email, that Tikka will not be bringing in 6.5x55 T3x Battues for the NA market, ever. :(
I guess I'll have to choose between 30-06 and 308.
Epps had a walnut Battue 30/06 in stock. Much nicer than the plastic version.

I got a SS T3 in 270Win this week from my LGS who will match other prices.

Heading up to Bass Pro with my wallet: $579-$599 Tikka's. Coming home with two. Hopefully one in 243 and another in 270. Neither calibres have been in my collection and at that price, might as well see what they're all about! :)

EDIT: never mind... Bass Pro lists their stuff in US dollars. Nothing special there.

That is one reason I never shop Bass Pro, they dont even bother to make a Canadian website... sheesh! That's like people that list things for sale on kijiji in US dollars, like come on we are in Canada... I sometimes feel like sending them an offer in Rupees or Yen. Thanks for hiding the true cost in your sales tactic.. Just walk away.

Are the metal bolt shrouds a noticeable performance enhancement or just piece of mind that it's more durable than the plastic oem shroud? Thanks!
