So when is NEA going to start to make a complete Swiss Arms rifle?

Too bad it is all about the money and not innovation, thats what really boosts an industry...

Actually, we made our Swiss lower with only a 100 unit commitment from one dealer. Many of the products we have made for the Canadian market have been min 100 unit runs.

.. Money isn't our sole driving force. I think we've shown a commitment to keeping prices low.

We've made over 70 products for various markets over the last 3 years. Innovation is indeed where our focus lays.

We understand that if you keep building, and keep filling needs, and keepbthe price competitive, money isn't an issue.

We have plans to release a few more platforms. We're not discussing what those are though.

We are interested in hearing what people want to see though.

Thats great...Looking forward to seeing what products you have in store for us in the future...:)

non-restricted AR-180B would be interesting with a quad rail in a few differnt calibres 223, 6.8 spc, that patent must be up by now. If these came in at around $1000 they would sell like hotcakes. Maybe I should hold off on that XCR :)

NEA, I think the bottom line is that people really want an affordable non restricted semi auto that takes legal 10 round magazines. If it came in a choice of chamberings (5.56, 6.8spc, 308) and was accurate enough for varminting, and had quality we can trust... That's the magic combination in my opinion. The specific platform is less important than having those characteristics. Is it deliverable? I don't know, but I would definitely buy one. maybe 3 or 4 :)

No kidding.

It would have to look evil too.

If by platforms you mean building new guns how bout something similar to the XCR with less suck? Multiple chamberings with quick change barrels, can be DI or piston (I don't care), compatible with AR parts and mags (or SR25 mags in 308), non restricted and less than $2000?

The only thing I'm going to guess is that whatever new platform NEA makes it's going to look blocky.

They make pretty good stuff(sometimes) but have very little artistic talent when it comes to their designs. I agree with function over form, but a good engineer can add form to a good design and make something pleasing to the eye.

Well, an improved AR180b would be a must IMO. Stamped sheet metal upper (as with the 180b, to keep costs down), with picatinny top rail from the factory (welded in place?... well, that would require a steel top rail... maybe use a poly methyl methacrylate composite?), and machined aluminium lower that takes an AR trigger group. Maybe a modified front sight so it can take a standard detachable AR-15 rear sight. Heavy 1 in 7 twist barrel, 18.6" long, with the muzzle threaded for 1/2-28 TPI muzzle devices.

Even if it was a little over 1k (maybe $1200 ish), I'd definitely want one.

Thoughts?
