So... when is the M305 and .308 combo deal coming?

The wages are rising as well. The next cheap labour source will be other parts of asia and africa
But the quality has to rise up. Crappy expensive goods will not sell.

The $800 price tag has a lot of competition that is going to be cheaper on the long run, especially cheap .223 (SU-16) and pistol caliber carbine (JRC, SUB-2000,...).

okay... I'm still a little confused as to what the price point is going to be. Currently I am shopping around for one and am wondering if I should find a 2013 model or wait it out on hopes of a better quality model from this next batch?

You can pick up a Browning BAR for $1200 just 4 or 5 hundred more then the new price of the m305

I'm a huge fan of canadaammo, please do not get me wrong, but nothing short of a 500cc + motorcycle is worth more than 600 bucks from china. I used to import a lot of stuff. Containers full of random things, from sheets of cloroplast corrugated plastic to 800 x 2 rms night club music amplifiers.

We used to pay our guy in China $275 a month to visit factories, etc for us to minimize the samples we would have to buy to figure it out for ourselves. He wanted 200 a month and thought he was getting away with something at that and we told him we would give him another 75 and cover his traveling expenses but he had to be strict.

China is hungry for Canadian and American dollars. 700 dollars Canadian is 3 to 5 months wages for a smart person.

I have to agree on the disappointment level . There goes my winter build project . At double it is no longer viable as a base to build on . Just as well to go on to a SA and be done . At least you can justify the money for that rifle.

Shorty

I actually like the price increase, gives me less incentive to purchase the Norinco copy over the Springfield original.

As someone who's been saving my pennies to buy an m305 with a double purpose in mind (hunting & just plain wasting relatively cheap ammunition), I will have to save longer. At that price though, i may buy a 10/22 & a $300-$400 .308 bolt action. The problem with that is I WANT an M305…

1)Take a loan
2)Buy an M305 now
3)Eat ramen for the next five months.

We will try to keep the price at retail as low as we can, but obviously we cannot take a loss

We have discussed an increase in quality on par with the price increase with the factory.

Otherwise, if they do not sell, they they will no longer be imported.

When they were first imported, I believe they sold for $799

Wow, this is a surprise, I've been thinking of getting one for the last year and half - there is no way I can see paying double the price. After tuning and mods it would be just ridiculously expensive for what it is, or so I think. What kind of quality or improvement bump would we be talking about?
