So where are we now?

Gun rights are the canary in the coal mine.

If you want to see where a country is in 20 or 50 years, see what they are doing with guns right now. Because, inevitably, erosion of 'inconvenient' rights such as gun rights and free speech lead to the erosion of the rest.

To me, this is about more than a hobby or someone's job (though those are important). This is about where we're headed as a country.

This is bang on.

Where will all the police and first responders be when (not if) we have a major event.

Home protecting their loved ones, or getting the hell out of dodge. Can’t blame them!

What could possibly happen? Pick one....

Major Earthquake sets off doomsday volcanic reaction
Major terror attack (isis JV team)
Magnetic pole swap
Pulsar
EMP
Asteroid
Killer Virus
Iran and Israel are going to get involved eventually
Joe Biden becomes president of the USA

the big bank in germany Deutsche Bank is likely gonna go bankrupt soon which will be the first domino. 2008 2.0 is more likely.

But criminals cherish these new tyrannical gun bans which mark a historical new begining for safer crimes, they celebrate everyday, they laugh their butts off and they say:" Thank you JT bro, for dramatically improving our job safety, the only PM ever who really pulled off something to make us criminals safer as we now truly can "harvest" the disarmed population at a safer level than ever thought possible. God bless you bro, you're the best PM ever, now back to the handgun smuggling business!"
LOL...very true.
Then, that „JT bro” goes and sayis on TV how our community is „not safe” due to „gun crime” and how badly „new measures need to be implemented” to ban and confiscate more firearms from law abiding citizens...
Then criminals laugh their butts off even more because safety of their job improves, then their „JT bro” calls for MORE firearms confiscations in the name of the „public safety” (of course !) and it goes in a circle untill not even one bolt action rifle remains in hands of law abiding citizens...

One could almost suggest that Progs use crims as a catspaw to keep the proles frightened into unthinking panicked compliance...

The trick is to do something legal, that protects one individually and sums to significance if many do it, is hard for the libs to defeat, can be easily reversed if we get an ally in govt. and does not harm any third party like retailers or the general public due to collateral damage.

There are ways to do that ...........

I think this thread has already touched on that solution. We need to knock down the left and their big Achilles heel is climate change and its bastard child, climate alarmism. There are numerous cogent, scientific examinations that debunk these concepts for the power grabbing frauds and scams that they are. Google Tony Heller and Friends of Science to get a start on enlightenment if you're not already clued in. Being innocent, citing crime stats, and bawling that your gun is a toy not a weapon will get you nowhere. Trying to expose the hoax puts us up against a giant smear and censor propaganda machine, one so powerful even the oil companies crawl before it, but truth is on our side. Spread the truth on social media, keep chipping away. There are more than enough un-brainwashed ready to be converted, ready to be really pissed when they find they've been had.

Red team gaming exercises in the US estimate an immediate 50% defection of all support personnel - like fire, EMT, police, etc. They are expecting half to stay home.

"I think this thread has already touched on that solution" - I'm not sure about that, there are actually infinite possible solutions limited only by our imaginations.

In addition to the doing good to get good things angle as well as ideas to slow down (but not not halt) confiscation there may be ways of manipulating the value for the firearms at risk that lay the ground work for a class action law suit and / or raise the cost of a buy back high enough to make the general public sit up, pay attention and seriously question the plan to ban certain firearms.

There are those of us working together in the background to come up with new ideas; we're tired of the digital fasces, self interested gun orgs and endless warnings of "the Liberals are after our guns" repeated ad nauseum.

I remember when Dave Tomlinson told us to register guns with "unknown" in all the fields. It would have brought C-68 crashing down. Few did. He said don't be a verifier. One of my friends became a verifier right away and got monster deals on guns people just wanted to get rid of. My point, strategies looking from within the gun culture will get you a not-so-hot army. I also have next to no faith in using the courts. They can move the goal posts at will, smear us in any way they want (Yellow Vests), and the higher courts are stacked with Marxist hacks and political flacks (Law Society of Canada).

That is why I think putting what weight we have behind the science and industry that, like us, is being kicked in the face by our common enemy and going for their weakest point is a necessary part of of our efforts as individuals. This does not exclude getting behind the CCFR.

I honestly think that education is not the right approach to the mess we are in. As an example, I do think what the CCFR is doing is valuable in terms of their message but the individuals that will lend an ear are likely already in this crowd.

I think if we do want to grow the base of firearms owners we need to revamp the culture. By that I mean:

1) Focus on the fun and excitement -Promote the variety of competitions -a lot of people are not aware of how versatile the sport is. Advertise on the radio if possible.
2) Tap into cultural icons -When it comes to firearms "Die Hard" in past "John Wick" now -it is a means of connecting with people.
3) Add colour -if people are scared of "black rifles" address the aesthetics ie. F1 firearms. Sometimes you have to play the Liberal game
4) Self defence -if govnt is saying crimes are on the rise; have the lobby groups advocate for self protection ie. what Kenny in alberta is trying to legislate for people not being sued after defending themselves

What I am saying is, as a community we need to think about how we market ourselves if we want more people to come and join our cause. Just my 2 cents.

Attaching any gun rights argument to this crazy train conspiracy stuff about climate change is a guaranteed loser of a strategy.

These are totally workable solutions. Now, we need to send this message to bigger boys and see if they could develop a strategy out of it.
But, it is ridiculous of me to think that big boys don't read this forum, I believe all our firearm org. leaders do lurk in the background and read all this stuff, they probably don't chime in because of the politics but nonetheless could get lots of good ideas from here.

To something special Post 317:

Your reading skills appear lacking. I said nothing about attaching gun rights to arguments or articles debunking climate hysteria. The concept is extraordinarily simple.

1. The left have burned their boats and are proceeding inland with this climate hysteria.
2. the science and data to debunk this hoax, along with the brave ones willing to articulate the science and data, are out there.
3. We share articles, donate to those brave ones, or support by whatever means available to help blow this hoax out of the water
4. the house of cards of lies comes tumbling down and the left gets it in the neck.
5. the left loses politically, we win by default.

I believe that with the exception of the CSAAA the other three orgs have a conflict of interest that blocks them from exploring innovative solutions.

Nothing beats a Liberal government rattling the gun control chain to boost donations to the orgs. If the problem was somehow magically solved or significantly diminished that funding would dry up over night.

The CSAAA is testing different water since their livelihood depends on the gun trade. Which is precisely what the NSSF in the USA departed sharply from the NRA's path - the latter is a fading force and its schtik has worn out its welcome.
