Some questions about modern Smith and Wessons

So I just spent almost all of my hard-earned money on my very first restricted and you are telling me to buy another one?
Dunno, I just prefer bright stainless that shines in the sun. It's more, well, Flashy ;)
And I would much prefer a 2020 python to an old s&w, but that's just because I'm a huge Walking Dead fan...
Although I understand the appeal of a nice deep blue.

Get a nice M27 (Cheaper than Python) and no need to polish anything LoL.

So sweet.

I've been looking for a good 27 for a while now.

I'll take that over a Python any day of the week! Python mystique be damned!

I once had a M28 that was a ringer. A gun I should have kept ..... like so many others ..... ;>(

100% agree. I have had 2 Pythons but never kept them. I would love to have a 3.5" barrel Model 27 and that would be a keeper for sure.

Nice to hear from someone who doesn't worship at the feet of the Python idol!

As I said elsewhere on this forum, the Python I just received has a DA pull I would describe as "clunky". If I had a S&W with similar pull, I'd dump it ASAP. The SA pull, while a model of crispness, is heavier than that of any of my S&Ws. If I wanted another SA revolver, I would have bought one.

Until I decide f I want to keep it, I won't fire it. I'm hoping there is a 'smith out there that can give it a reasonable DA pull. Any recommendations?

I've got a Colt Officer Model Target coming in the mail and have been assured that it has a good DA pull. If it doesn't, it will end my trip on the dark side of Colt DA revolvers.

Look, for some of us, it isn't all about performance.
some like the "cool factor" that comes with a python.
And some, like me, just like the look.
Anyway, that gun is way out of my budget for now, maybe in a few years though!

A gun that doesn't perform to expectations is like any other tool that doesn't - useless, an expensive paper weight.

While I appreciate the quality of the fit and finish, I expect more of my guns. Handsome is as handsome does.

I will not be shooting this gun until I find a 'smith who can civilize it. Then it can take it's place with pride amongst my plebian but fully functional S&Ws.
