Someone Talk Me Out Of Buying A Benelli M4

Oh wait, just re-read your post. Sorry.

Too much blood in my caffeine system.

Can't say I've seen any Neostead's for sale, though.

No worries, Delselins in the dealer section has them and Nickorette was bringing a few in.

Lots of zombies out your way?
Baseball bats work too.
Why not just get a nice shotgun you can use for hunting too?
Benelli Montefreltro Silver is a helluva nice gun, and hard on zombies.

-I seem to recall that Louis Awerbuck panned the Benelli M4 in a SWAT Magazine article a few years back.

-The stock adjusts to two postitions: too long and not long enough.

-Pump guns cost less and are less picky about what you feed them.

Unfortunatly costs less doesnt apply to the Neo 2000 pumper :(

For an isosceles stance, the mid position is pretty good, but you have to use an optic with the factory cheek piece. In fact its even a teeny bit too long when wearing a vest/ammo carrier and jacket, so thats why I made the even shorter collapsable position.

The cheek piece isn't very good though, its got too much comb on it, and it likes to smack your cheek when firing heavy loads. The one I made rests right on the aluminum skeleton (it looks like a carry handle when the cheek piece is off) and is perfectly parallel to the bore axis.

IMHO the tele stock needs some work to function better.

I appreciate everyone having recommendations for other shot guns but thats not the reason for this thread. The reason is I want a benelli M4 and I want you to tell me reasons not to buy one! I was hoping someone would say they suck. Or they are ugly, or they are unreliable. Read my signature folks, I already have a pump (2 actually), I also have a semi/pump. I also want to buy a desert recon 870 just because I want one.I dont hunt, I dont want to hunt, I have no intentions of starting to go hunting. The cost isn't really a concern... ill end up spending the money on something else... car parts, bike parts, camera parts, poker, blackjack, etc etc. I dont need this benelli, I just want one. Im doing everything possible to avoid going to the gun store... cuz when I go I usually buy something! I may not be a shotgun but mostly likely a gun of sorts! HAHAHA

They suck and they are ugly. Too much plastic.

Okay, have you ever shouldered one? If not when you do you will either hate it or deal with it. I find the standard stock not good for me at all and the collapsing rig a piece of garbage.

Its well made and reliable with most ammo out of the box, you might get some cycling issues with low recoil ammo until its had a few 100rds thru it.

Until Mesa tactical or someone else comes up with a adapter for a proper stock I find it average to lame. Anything that doesnt fit you right/awkward to handle is not that great IMO regardless of who uses it.

Your in the freedom zone right? Get a AA-12 shotgun :)

That's a ###y shotty! How much did that land you?

Thank you! :D

sheesh, lets see.

M4 was 2150 I think,
Micro T1 was about 650
ADM QR mount was about 100 bucks CDN shipped from the states
FAB Defense railed forend was 90 bucks CDN
Surefire 6P LED Defender was 135 from DS Tactical
Shell carrier was 80 bucks US, although if I did it again I would choose another of the same brand (since I had to mod this one) so maybe 60 bucks.
Titanium oversized charging handle was 50 bucks US
oversized bolt release was about 50 bucks

I also have a door breacher/muzzle brake that was 100 bucks plus 40 for the extended threaded choke.

SO all in all I have about 3300 bucks invested in that picture :D

not to mention the countless hours of custom work (new tele stock position, new cheek piece) etc...

How did you deal with the magazine tube being too hi capacity?

It wasn't. The mag tube on m4's sold to civis' in the US actually only holds 4 rounds.. (Remove the mag spring retainer clip and you'll get five in)
There are aftermarket tubes avail so... While in the US you could run it as a 7 shot tube.
Seven in the tube, one in the chamber and ghost load one on the carrier and you have a total capacity of 9. Not bad for a tube fed shotty.
Of course if I could I'd have a saiga and couple of 20 round drum mags...
