Something going on with 9mm ammo? It's disapeared

I just bought a beautiful Walther P99 in 9mm.

Reading various posts on here I'm a little worried about Canada post ####ting the bed and my pistol getting lost.

But I have an even bigger worry at the moment. I can't find 9mm ammo ANYWHERE.
Any place I call they tell me they have been cleaned out. They have other ammo, I've picked up some good .45 stuff,but people are clearing out 9mm.

Is something going on and I didn't get the forward?
.45 hurt zombies more than 9mm..... Why the big grab on the ammo?

I couldn't find anything in Ottawa or the surrounding area, does anyone in the area know where I can pick up some 9mm?
 
9mm luger is roughly 30% cheaper than .45acp. Meaning a fun afternoon with my Beretta Storm (in 9mm) would cost me $200 for factory ammo, instead of $260 for .45acp, meaning I could still go out and have a few pints after.

We have lots in. A few cases of American Eagle 124gr and 10+ cases of Sellier and Bellot 124gr FMJ. S&B is $289.99/1000.

About a year ago, newly armed CBSA officers did their pistol quals with ammo that was purchased form southern alberta retailers instead of purchased through govt sources. You couldn't find a single round of 9mm ammo for almost 6 months. Maybe the same thing happened in your area?

I'm going to try out marstar. Reloading is definitely something I'm gonna look into.
