Son's Cougar Today

I have to do a cougar hunt
Any Vancouver island cougar hunters want to do a trade for Haida gwaii deer or fishing trip send me a pm

Guess you haven't smacked the tree with a big stick or climbed up and pulled on a tail to make them jump out and run again then Keith? Lol

Don't know how I missed this thread first time around. Heartfelt congratulations to both father and son, for the terrific trophy as well as the wonderful shared experience and memory. I hope you post again when the taxidermy is done.

The taxidermist texted my son earlier today and is very pleased with the skinning as he instructed,It's on it's way to a tannery in Manitoba as we speak. He will get the skull back soon and wait the required time before having it scored.First one I've ever seen in the wild, although I had one close encounter spring bear hunting years ago. Another son aged 12 at the time and I were in a tree stand overlooking a bait barrel when a herd of mule deer passed right under our stand. One doe paused to flip over the Taymor packframe I had left at the base of the tree to haul out a bear hide if needed. She bounced off out of sight and in seconds we heard a cougar scream 50 ft away . We were hunting a ravine and another cat answered about a 1/2 mile away. This screaming back and forth carried on for about the last 45 minutes of daylight, then ceased. I'm sure it had made a kill and was calling her kitten to join her.I couldn't see through my scope anymore so with the kid in mind we cautiously retreated. It made the little hairs on your neck stand at attention no doubt about that.Harold

This kitty has me sported with a million dollar idea.
One can only imagine minding ones own business out in the bush
whether walking, jogging, biking, quadding or the sort.
Have one of these tree monkey's kommahkahzzing down on your neck?
Quiver of arrows on a pack sack pointy side up and a bit long to clear
the top of your head should justify any fur leap advances?

And don't forget to dip them in poison tree frog juice!
