$299 isn't a bad price for a sporter jungle carbine, and with a little bit of work you can probably get this thing looking presentable.

I was talking about a different No.5. The one was previously talked about in this subforum, it was what could have been a really nice No.5, except for the fact that the owner decided to take a wire wheel to the immaculate Suncorite finish so that the markings were more visible for photographs. I'll see if I can find it.
That's normal for genuine No.5s. Lightening cuts/milling into the knoxform. The receiver has a few lightening cuts made to it, and the bolt knob is hollow.
