Source .454 lead round ball for .44 percussion revolver

Can anyone tell me a good Canadian source(s) for .454 lead round balls for my Uberti .44 1858 New Model Army Percussion Revolver?

Hornady makes them and I think even Basspro/cabelas has them

If this is your first Cap and ball make sure to buy a set of Slixshot nipples and only use Rem #10 caps (CCI are garbage)

Hi Dsiwy, been shooting for about a year now - still using factory nipples. Checked both BassPro and Cabela's , no stock.

Depending on your shooting needs, buy a mold and start casting, casting is a rabbit hole worth falling down.

I use the Hornady .454 round lead balls (14.49 or so for a box of 100 is not shabby) and purchased from Cabelas: was out of stock for a couple of months this past spring but I did get the two boxes ordered ... my pistol was bought from Dsiwy BTW - and a really good Uberti .44

Depends on the gun. The sizes I use are.
Ruger 0.457
Uberti 0.451 and 0.454 two different revolvers
Pieatta 0.451
last three are replicas 1860 Colts and a Remington 1858
ball size depends on the gun.

Lee make a mould specifically for the larger-than-normal .457 ball in the Ruger Old Army. Having a ball to big will put unneeded strain on the loading lever.

Loading stands take the Strain off the revolver loading mechanism. Great for Remington style as well.
