Source for 7.62x39 brass???

You can check with http://www.buffaloarms.com/ I was able to get some from them last year and the price wasn't bad either. If I remember correctly they may not show it on the web site but if you call them they can tell you if they have it and what manufacturers they have and the prices.
Hope this helps.

Can you even get Winchester brass? I thought that export of 7.62x39mm had been blocked from the US.

ummmm sorry to state the obvious....... But what about the brass you've been throwing in the bin at the range?

What I mean to say is, everytime I go out to my local range, I see the ground littered with 7.62x39 brass and the bins are usually full of them as well.......

It's not like you are reloading for Accuracy.... right..... use the mil-surp brass you have already shot..... For $30 you can get one of those "military brass primer popers" The bench mounted unit that only pushes out the primers and pops that annoying two hole flash hole to a one hole flash hole, then take your lee primer pocket trimmer and get rid of the crimp...... Bob's your uncle.

You may want to annel the brass and what not, but it should fit the bill regardless. Some of the best brass I have for my pistols is old mitiary brass "recycled" in this manner.......

Just a thought........

Cheers!

It's almost always steel case in my experience.

Not if you are comparing to surplus ammo. The reloading components will be more expensive. But if you are comparing to target ammo, or hunting ammo then reloading is worth it.

Damn I didn't know they made target/hunting x39mm rounds!
for me, that caliber has always been the evil AK round

nice to know

Magnet works pretty well, I always run a big magnet through my range brass to pull out any steel case that might have slipped in.

I found one brass case last time I went to the range. Was interesting to see, surprised someone left it there, maybe they just didn't find that one. If you're ever in the Peg, it's yours.
