Sourcing BCL-102 or RDB in 308 - Where oh Where can they be?

Like the title says, trying to get a BCL-102 or RDB in before Oct - cash is in my hand - as I want the .308 for this falls hunt. Ya ya, purists with bolts bite thy tongue.

I had originally thought a Ruger Gunsite Scout (I'm not a super tall guy at just under 6') and like the shorter barrels for the bush.

But I think either the 102 or the RDB are just super sweet firearms and will be at home both in the bush and on the range bench. Bullpups do have a trigger that leaves some 'trigger princesses' to cry foul, but the stock tavor I have can shoot a 6'' steel plate at 200 yards to the point of boredom - with a 6x scope. So you can shoot them well if you spend a little time with them.

And that's why I need to source one out now, to give me a few trips to tighten down my zero, get a feel for it, and try a few different brands of ammo out to give me a 3'' group at 200, which will mean a nice clean shot in the bush. This bush has open spaces, but the people I know who go this way and my personal experience tramping around those woods - almost everything is shot under 100 - in some cases well under.

That's my story. Help me make it a reality. Google didn't find me a thing in stock anywhere. Hoping vendor's will chime in - like I said - cash in hand.

buy used and save big on the EE right now on the 102s. Not many people want RFBs either so you may have some bargaining power there. I was going to get one but decided against it with what I have currently.

My opinion would be to spend the extra scratch and go for the Stag 10. Far better build quality/materials than the BCL...(IMO)

Thanks, not so sure what you mean though - bcl 102 has issues?

There are a couple of BCL-102s posted on buy-sell classifieds in the Edmonton area right now, and they routinely show up on the EE here. Googling the appropriate terms usually finds them pretty quick.

And if you aren't aware of the quality issues for which Black Creek Labs has been blasted here on a routine and ongoing basis, well, maybe you need to start boning up before buying one.

Keep in mind that some of the 'issues' are hyped up minor ones and others are just downright fabrications.
I have one, along with a number of restricted AR-10 type rifles (SR-25/M110, and MWS), and it compares favorably for the cost to those two. So when one says sh!t like 'get the Stag, it's 100x better' and the like, they are for the most part vocalizing out their a$ho!e.

The Stag 10 is cheaper ( New ) ... lol.. ;)

Stag 10 is 1000X better !!! here are a few reasons why ! You dont need to bubba Charging handles to fit, No slop in the receivers, you can fit pretty much all AR10 aftermarket parts ! and they are actually anodized properly !

Wow someone else on here actually knows whats up. Cheers bud

I actually owned one of the first gen ones and it functioned flawlessly and was a ton of fun. I only sold it because of financial reasons (being a student sucks!). The only thing I wish BCL did was sell it initially with a light profile barrel. I find the "It has to be 1/3 MOA or its garbage" crap really affects how people manufacture firearms these days, and results in a heavy package that renders the rifle less useful. Not only that, but factory barrels are cheaply made for the most part on almost any rifle so the heavy contour does almost nothing to help real life accuracy. My rifle if I remember correctly shot about 1.5 MOA with some factory rounds I put through it which is quite good for a factory semi auto.

Anyways whether you choose the stag 10 (all hype at the moment IMO), BCL-102, or RFB, you won't be left disappointed. There are also some cheaper modern hunters that can be had on the EE from time to time, and Famae SG542 rifles are an option.

Some vid of my 102 WORKING despite what people will say about the 102...

Hype ? Funny all the build threads of the Stag10 dont have any issues of parts fitting like the BCL threads. The only receiver set worth anything is the Gen 1's at least all the parts fit...lol...

Hey I like debates but mostly with guns it seems like it's people trying to justify the debt they got themselves into to have something they didn't need.

Thanks to those who posted links vids and offers. Much appreciated. And thanks to the nods to the Stag 10 - didn't even know it existed. Like someone said, I need to bone up a bit on the forum. So some searching and reading I will do.

Thanks

Generalize much?
The only debts I have are my mortgage and my car.

My stag 10 is at the post office, going to pick it up tomorrow

Guys that drop 5k on a rifle dont usually have money issues. ! The only debt I have is my mortgage. Having no payments helps when it comes to spend on my hobbies!

To get to this point I had to work 7 days a week for 4.5 years. It's not easy but when you want something you got to work for it !

Msg me in afew months and ill tell you how i like my STAG 10 when the pre order comes in.

There is no comparison between a BCL102 and a Stag 10, aside from the fact that both are chambered in .308 cal. Anyone suggesting that the build quality is comparable betwèen the two rifles is delusional in the extreme. I have handled both and taken a good, long look at their fit and finish as well as their respective features. Compared to the Stag, the BCL is "amateur hour" at best. Anyone who would purchase a BCL over a Stag nèeds to seriously revisit their decision-making process, as they have clearly consumed the wrong Kool-Aid. With the Stag 10 now available, anyone who buys a BCL richly deserves whatever rifle problems befall them.
