South African 7.62x51

We were getting it for around £20 per 100(5 boxes), which is just over $40 CAD, so that was the cheapest 7.62 ammo seen here. When I take the time involved, it would"nt pay me to load FMJ if I could buy it for that kind of price.

Is this 7.62*51 ammo you're getting in SA or some other brand? If so, what kind?

And what brand will the 5.56 be?

Trying to plan an ammo budget, but I want to know what kind I'm saving my pennies for.
 
2 skids of 7.62x51 is due at Target Sports over the next few days. With any luck tomorrow, but possibly Monday. Will put up pricing and pictures when available and know exactly what it is.
 
S. African must be hit-and-miss in various M14S rifles. Mine shoots S.A. 7.62x51 in 3" patterns at 100 yards, but with other ammo brands my rifle will shoot 1". Kind of frustrating... I'd like to try the Portugese stuff someday (if possible).
 
I think three boxes would keep the missus and I happy for a while. Will there be an announcement in this thread when the shipment arrives or should I be watching somewhere else?
 
$.50/round is a reasonable price, considering the overall cost of ammo these days.

It's CanAm's pending shipment that makes it look too high.
