SP01 Shadow shoots low, anyone else have this problem?

I have been meaning to post this for quite some time, I found that 147g 9mm shoots at point of aim but sometimes it's harder to find ammo. Does anyone else have issues with their shadow shooting low? Anyone have to change to a taller/lower front/rear sight?
 
Have you shot some 125gn rounds? I find that for my 8'ish year old Shadow that it shoots right on with 125's, a bit low with 115's and a touch high with 147's.

Now there's a chance that CZ is sighting it for 147's since that is the preferred match ammo for this gun due to the lower recoil impulse at the match power level. If so then either get into reloading or go for the next size shorter front sight. I don't suggest you file down the front sight to lift the POI because with the fiber optic sight there's not a lot of metal to work with. Also instead of the black outline being even from side to side and top to side the black on top will be reduced to either the thinnest of lines or gone completely behind the mushed out part of the fiber.
 
The front height has to work with the height of the rear sight. And if the rear isn't the same as any of ours then there's not much point in suggesting a specific size. So you need to measure what you have now.

Doing the search on this for you the only reference I found so far is that the front sights are measured from the lower edge of the part that fits into the slide up to the top of the sight blade. So to measure your sight you pretty well have to remove it from the slide.

The other option is this quote from the CZUSA FAQ page;

For the 75/85 models, SP-01 models, 97 models, P-01, P-06 and PCR and 83 you must remove the REAR sight and identify the number stamped on the bottom of it. Choose a higher numbered rear sight to raise the point of impact and a lower numbered sight to lower the point of impact.

Thank you for your help, BCRider. I will take the sights off when I get a chance and find the ones I need.
 
Shadow's are regulated at the factory with 124gr bullets. Although the newer Shadowmates have a sight that is sort of in between the 5.5mm and 6mm sights (5.5 for 124 and 6mm for 147), not sure if the regular guns have that sight or not.But for it to shoot low would require a really tall front sight. I'm thinking the issue isn't the gun.

I thought that too, Slavex. I thought it was my grip or maybe I was flinching a bit when I fired but I have also let other pistol shooters try the gun, all of them shot low too. thanks for the measurements for the front sight, mine appears to be a 5.5mm( I will check with a caliper when I go back to work Tues.). A friend of mine bought a Shadow too and has to run 147 grain ammo through it too. I thought this may be a common problem but I guess not. I appreciate everyone's input! Thank you.

have you tried shooting at 20-25 yards, maybe your pistol is zeroed at these distance. usually a heavier projectiles ( slower velocity) shoots higher than the lighter projectiles. the lighter always has a flattter trajectory.
 
Shoot it off a rest/bag and you'll really know if it's the gun or you that's shooting low, I just did it with my Girsan 1911. It shoots low and to the right but shooting off a rest really tightened up the grouping so I know where I need to pay more attention to once I adjust the sights, easy way to take operator error out of the equation and really see where the sights are like.

I will take it out and try shooting off a rest, I have never shot my Shadow off a rest. I took the front sight out and got 5.48mm overall.
 
CZ custom for new sights, or wait until I get back from IWA with some new Shadow 2 adjustable rear sights (will need a 7mm front sight)
 
Because I do a fair bit of load testing, I opted to get an adjustable rear sight and 7mm front sight from CZ Custom. They ship it right to you.
