Spectre G3 10/22 Chassis

Batch 3 Update:

Chassis are finished being machined. Handguards are 2/3 done. We are currently in the middle of re-configuring our shop to make room for our new CNC machine that will be dedicated to making chassis full time. This has slowed down our production schedule more than anticipated and is why batch 3 is taking longer. For batch 3 we are estimating beginning shipments in 3 to 4 weeks.

We have had a number of emails from people asking for updates. Please do not email us for a status update. It takes time to reply to each email and we would rather focus on production.

What if we're still waiting on a Tan chassis from the 2nd batch?

Damn when I ordered I was under the impression I was in batch 2 :( FML. I guess collecting interest free loans for your products is part of the business plan;) I’m half joking don’t listen to me. Y’all a small company doing good work. Imma keep the order. Keep on keeping on!

We don't use debt to finance any of our product development or production costs, and historically we do not take pre-orders due to people complaining about "interest free loans" or production delays when a delivery estimate isn't accurate enough. We will likely not be taking further pre-orders for chassis moving forward, or for any future products.

I would like to remind people that delivery estimates are, well, estimates. Right now we live in a world where global trade is really really messed up. While we are making these chassis in Alberta, the aluminum is smelted in Ontario and then forged in the USA. Crossing the border twice during a pointless trade war. As well, we are currently waiting on a new CNC machine that will be dedicated to chassis production, and again due to the trade war it is taking much longer to get then it should. Thankfully however our machine should be delivered this week and we should have it operational in under 2 weeks.

Everyone who pre-ordered a chassis will get one. We have never not delivered on a pre-order since we started our business nearly a decade ago.

I will conclude by saying you should not pre-order anything if you are not ok waiting longer then estimated. Historically it's very rare for a pre-order for physical goods to be on time.

Personally, I don't care if a pre-order misses it's deadline, for all the reasons you have mentioned.

What really pisses me off and leaves a sour taste in my mouth is when I pre-order something, and then get radio silence when a deadline passes.

If a company jumps out ahead of the deadline and announces a delay or whatever and details why, my trust is never shaken.

If you have a customer like Jayou540 talking like this on a forum, you ####ed up. Communication is key. Don't take your customers for granted.

We have posted fairly regular updates on this thread, as well as replying to emails from people. Our last production update was from Wednesday. Keep in mind, we're a small company, and we don't have a dedicated comms person. So these updates do take time away from other things, and is why they are not as frequent as some may want.

We will keep posting updates here. This week we are hoping to have handguards mostly complete, with them heading to anodizing next week. We are also receiving our new CNC, but we don't anticipate that causing any production delays as we have the shop prepped for the arrival.

I will point out that you mentioned "deadline". We give an estimate but never a deadline for completion of a pre-order. It's important to differentiate the two. An estimate is us pointing vaguely at a calendar. A deadline would be a guaranteed date.

Finally, the past 6 months in the industry has been unprecedentedly challenging. Like more than you can imagine. We have a government who hates the industry and will randomly ban stuff for the fun of it, supply chains are messed up beyond belief due to the trade war and potential stikes, and no one know what's happening with regards to legislation and trade. Covid was nothing compared to this.

Production update: Based on our current schedule, we anticipate finishing batch 3 handguards on Wednesday and off to anodizing on Thursday. Anodizing is done by a 3rd party and typically takes 1 to 2 weeks for black and 1 to 3 weeks for tanodized.
