Leaving the slide closed and the mag in and swinging the pistol 180 degrees will get you disqualified in any pistol match and in any IPSC match that I have competed in during the last 35 years. I do not know how they do it at the ranges that you compete on. My text book world consists of having won every one of the three big bowling pin match that took place in the 80's and 90's in the province of Ontario multiple times. I have competed in NRA style bullseye matchs, bowling pin matchs, Second Chance matchs in Michigan. Did very well back then. IPSC matchs, steel matches, action shotgun matches, trap matchs, won a few and done well in most of them. I am a PAL instructor a wilderness handgun instructor, I have taken the IPSC pistol and rifle safety courses, and yes there was a rifle IPSC course at one time I have the black badge to prove it, the OHA range officer safety course. The IPSC range officers course. I have trophies and firearms that I have won in matches in Ontario and the USA over the last 35 years coming out my wazoo. I was on the board of my local shooting club for 14 years. I have competed in Ontario, Michigan, Iowa, Minnesotta, Nevada, Arizona and California. I just spent 2 months in Nevada competing. I could go on but you would probably think I was bragging or lying. I am also not stating that I am the greatest shooter in the world, I just happen to be a long term competitive shooter that takes safey very seriously. As a matter of fact now that I think about it I even have a IPSC trophy from the Sault Ste. Marie shoots back in the 80,s or 90,s, can't remember the date, that states I am a master class IPSC shooter. Never believed that myself but I still have the trophy. What are the credentials that you base your opinions on??????

Well Bud, I must not have made my point very clear, although I may not have your impressive shooting resume, I to in 30 years of shooting have a few of my own shiny trinkits that I am also proud of as well I am also an IPSC certified RO and the CRO of my local club and a CSSA certified instructor and have competed in as many US states as you have as well as Ontario and Quebec and as far away as the other side of the world. Not to mention my years in the military and the fact that i put 35000 rounds down range a year. Still not as impressive as you, but you asked. As far as your opinion, you answered none of my questions, and yes I do teach textbook. So was Travis at 90deg. to the right, or at dead centre?? You were not there, u dont know the range set up, tell me how a discharge could have occured or what was unsafe? Then tell me your experience in Military tactical firearms instruction?
For every conjecture you bring up, I assure you I will give you a factual argument, so bring fact and we may be able to debate

Maybe you should go to a range where people are trusted and trained. Not playing a "game."

The problem here is you are applying your rule to someone else's game.

And of course, you are not taking EDITING into account either.

Maybe jealous because some else is travelling around sponsored and shooting?

If you knew better than TT, and weren't just an anonymous guy on the net telling identity-verified champion shooters that they are unsafe when making a video, then perhaps you would be making and selling videos.

He was on an army range.. You know..... where people train to fight people who may attack them from positions not limited to 180 degrees.

Your rules are not universal. They are for keeping civilians with limited unverifiable training safe while playing a game.

That is why smarter people with more experience adopted the "universal rules of firearms handling" created where you need to break two rules to cause an accident.

Hey everyone: Lets tell the US Army Marksmanship instructors they must apply BOWLING PIN MATCH rules to their training!!!

Seems like the safety warning in the beginning of training videos was put on it FOR YOU....

PS- Do you go to action movies and tell people watching they were unsafe in their gun handling when shooting the alien or terrorist?

You should start writing letters to Warner Brothers, Paramount, and join in on that retarded thread where people were showing off their "gun skill and training" by saying how FAKE the Angelina Jolie action movie Wanted was.

LOL, it was brought up at EESA yesterday for our ICLC shoot as well.

This topic has some pretty good legs, one guy disagrees. Oh well, makes some good conversation later on I guess.:D

it's a f**king video, with a remote camera, I don't care if he shoots the f**king camera. it's still safe. he did nothing unsafe, at any time. if you have an issue with his video maybe you should contact him and explain it. in the meantime don't bother coming to my range.

Preach on Brother!

furthermore have you ever trained in anything that requires team movement with loaded guns? shooting past partners to engage threats beyond them? retrieving downed partners while engaging threats? trained in anything other than a game? There are other ways to practice safety than to unload a gun and show clear. lots and lots of other ways. Again, nothing he did in that video was unsafe, in any way shape or form. If he did the AMU would likely have smacked him for it.

In true form, well said Rob:)

You arent't allowed to do that Slavex! In bowling pin matches with army marksmenship instructor-champion shooters you must show clear and safe before having anyone, and especially cameras up-range of you.

And moving with teams or partners WITH A FIREARM... Blasphemy!

Next thing you might even suggest people practice drawing from concealment and crazy stuff like that!!!

I think I need to go way off topic here and just say: That was some damned nice shooting there. The reloads are impressive but the shooting itself was flawless. Two hits on that popper? The second one was even centre mass!

Oh... and the whole thing was unsafe before the video even began. They never showed him wearing his seat belt in the vehicle that transported him to the range. :runaway:

no I mean he doesn't blink for like 6 shots. of course that might just be the frame rate hiding it. but you'd think you'd see one blink at least.
