Leaving the slide closed and the mag in and swinging the pistol 180 degrees will get you disqualified in any pistol match and in any IPSC match that I have competed in during the last 35 years. I do not know how they do it at the ranges that you compete on. My text book world consists of having won every one of the three big bowling pin match that took place in the 80's and 90's in the province of Ontario multiple times. I have competed in NRA style bullseye matchs, bowling pin matchs, Second Chance matchs in Michigan. Did very well back then. IPSC matchs, steel matches, action shotgun matches, trap matchs, won a few and done well in most of them. I am a PAL instructor a wilderness handgun instructor, I have taken the IPSC pistol and rifle safety courses, and yes there was a rifle IPSC course at one time I have the black badge to prove it, the OHA range officer safety course. The IPSC range officers course. I have trophies and firearms that I have won in matches in Ontario and the USA over the last 35 years coming out my wazoo. I was on the board of my local shooting club for 14 years. I have competed in Ontario, Michigan, Iowa, Minnesotta, Nevada, Arizona and California. I just spent 2 months in Nevada competing. I could go on but you would probably think I was bragging or lying. I am also not stating that I am the greatest shooter in the world, I just happen to be a long term competitive shooter that takes safey very seriously. As a matter of fact now that I think about it I even have a IPSC trophy from the Sault Ste. Marie shoots back in the 80,s or 90,s, can't remember the date, that states I am a master class IPSC shooter. Never believed that myself but I still have the trophy. What are the credentials that you base your opinions on??????
Well Bud, I must not have made my point very clear, although I may not have your impressive shooting resume, I to in 30 years of shooting have a few of my own shiny trinkits that I am also proud of as well I am also an IPSC certified RO and the CRO of my local club and a CSSA certified instructor and have competed in as many US states as you have as well as Ontario and Quebec and as far away as the other side of the world. Not to mention my years in the military and the fact that i put 35000 rounds down range a year. Still not as impressive as you, but you asked. As far as your opinion, you answered none of my questions, and yes I do teach textbook. So was Travis at 90deg. to the right, or at dead centre?? You were not there, u dont know the range set up, tell me how a discharge could have occured or what was unsafe? Then tell me your experience in Military tactical firearms instruction?
For every conjecture you bring up, I assure you I will give you a factual argument, so bring fact and we may be able to debate
