I wouldn't consider the Speedsec holster just because they are too gun specific. You need on for one gun and another one for a different style.
Like the Speedsec (originally LIMcat) design, the locking mechanism on the JR is on the inside, so if you lock the holster (intentionally for a retention test or unintentionally - brain fade between "hot" stages) , it can unlocked on the draw. I can't tell the difference in drawing with the gun locked or not.Riflman said:Can anyone tell me what improvements were made to the JR knockoff that makes it better than the CR?

It comes with the post on the end of the holster, as opposed to the cup. Almost everyone that gets the other holster immediately orders Arredondo's post, which has a SRP of $40 US.
It has a tension adjustment on the inside of the holster. This allows you when unlocked to determine how much you want the resistance to be on the draw.
$180 is a Suggested Retail Price. My Dealers (of which anyone with a dealer license is) may sell for less.
