Spend my money for me... Need a .375cal rifle for dangerous game

All decent choices. Depends what you mean by Dangerous Game and where your hunting. You'd have to "shoulder" a few to see what feels comfortable. I have a BRNO 602 in 375 H&H with an Bausch & Lomb Balvar 3-9x42 on it which shoots very well and recoil is mild. Off the bench synthetic would be felt more than a wooden stock in most instances. Some stocks can be modified to "absorb" or "deflect" recoil. Recoil reducers can be added if one is concerned about the "ouch" factor. Neat thing about a 375 is that it can be rebarrelled to the more classic 404 Jeffery (which I've had done on another rifle)
 
There's a number of very nice 375's out there to select from. The two I went with are, top, in 375 H&H, a Winchester model 70 Super Express, 10lbs 5oz. Below, a custom job in 375 Chatfield Taylor, 9lbs 3oz. These are weights empty.

The EE has had several in the past week.
Browning A-bolt with sights and there was a Model 70 in 375 HH as well..

** right now in the EE there is a Sako in 375HH for 1550.00 sounds like quality to me.
Money left over for a great scope too, ammo then becomes a question though$$$$

It is on my "hunt it" list but oddly enough walking that far hadn't crossed my mind as of yet...I can imagine it would make sense to go lighter or at least have a quality sling.

No sling. Slings are evil. They'll catch on someone and get you killed. Some guys hate "PH Carry", but it works.

I hadn't thought about walking 20 miles...ever...in my life. But there it was, all chafed balls and all. Totally worth it.
 
I have a 375ruger Alaskan.
Fast to the shoulder.
The express sights are very quick.
Very accurate
I like the shortness. Even with a 20" bbl it's a very capable 500yrd rifle
 
Winchester 70 Alaskan or Safari (which ever comes first) in .375H&H. On that budget you you can include a quality scope ie: Leupold 1-6. I see you're new here. Welcome to the sight.
