Spring bear hunt in Ontario re-instated?

Well I am not sure as I am not a avid bear hunter but if it's true, then I would love to try it out and it would be good be good for ontario

actually i think it might get put back on for next year. why? because now the cute cuddly bears everyone was upset about hunters killing are now getting into the cities and bothering the urbanieties. and you know how much anti's dont like #### when it starts to actually affect them, then they want something done about it. well it was your stupid ass ideas and protests that caused it in the first place :mad:

just goes to show how much these people really care eh? it's alright to ##### about hunters, and that we're murders, but the second a bear walks through a barrie subburb or what have you, the are up in arms and want the thing killed. it just doesnt make any sense. you don't want the measures in place (spring hunt) that stops bears from getting to high of population and thus greatly reduce the bear venturing into the city incidents, But it's ok for the MNR to just go Kill them when they are in your backyard and all that meat goes to waste, Now your kids,pets etc are being putt in danger but thats ok?? Is it me or does this #### just blow your mind?

Gee, all I'd have to do is keep an eye out my kitchen window. The last couple were quite presentable bears. BBQ an Arctic Char, enjoy dinner, and sit back and wait.

Dumbdawg is right, the anti's somehow seem to feel that the MNR shooting a bear is "humane", while a hunter shooting a bear is cruel and bloodthirsty. While were on the subject, there was something on the radio on Monday about multiple sightings of a black bear in Kitchener Ontario over the weekend, but I didn't catch any details. Anybody else here anything about it?
 
Near Cambridge. My daughter, who lives over that way, was telling me that it was being suggested on the radio that farmers should pen up their lifestock. The farmers were laughing at the foolishness of the overreaction.

Too bad it has nothing to do with either them. It comes down to the minister and Dumbton McSquinty. Anti's have big $$$ for the premier's campaign. And neither of them want to be known as "the guy who killed the baby bears."

Perhaps - but he's also got to know that the 'right wing gunnutz' are pretty riled these days, and that means a lot of money and votes for the tories.

You'd be surprised what directions a gov't can take right near an election.

End of story tho - better just kick him out and deal with tory :)

Weather it is or isnt, I'm the kinda SOB that will cut off his nose to spite his face. I hunted countless bear,yote and wolf here till the yups stuck their noses into it. I wouldnt hunt any of those species now if they reinstate the season. Give me Heidi klum,and 5 gallons of KY to go hunt with...I'm dyin to see the day a big ol bruin walks into a yups house,sits on his suade couch with him and plays scrabble while yukking on granola

Kicking him out is the best idea. :) And although the gunnutz are riled, the Anti's have the big corporations and big $$ compared to us. We have the OFAH but they have several battles on the go.
 
Well I just don't get it. Why do the 'Humane folks' think it's okay to shoot a bear in the fall versus the spring? And did they give a reason why they banned the hunt initially? It seems kind of hypcritical to me. And what will it take for them to re-instate the spring hunt? Somebody...anybody? (sorry about the rant).
 
mmm chicken... ANYTHING the anti's do is just a stepping stone for them to work with towards the next ban or restriction of existing freedom's and rights... When we all understand that, then the sportsman who love to shoot trap will defend the guys who love IPSC and they will in turn defend the trappers etc... Giving up ANY right or freedom to hunt/trap or shoot will lead to the demise of the sports we love!!!

I'd love to see spring bear re-instated in Ont., but I am not holding my breath!

They don't. They just know people dont' have time to hunt bear in the fall.
 
well i'll be one bit more happier if they do re-instate the spring bear hunt i have written many letters up the line in regards to it but i wont believe it till i see it in the regs
