Spring Bear Hunt

Where I'm from we wouldn't let it bleed out and have it suffer we would put another one in it. Respect the game you take.

Letting it bleed out is what you do when the bear is no longer in sight. You dont want to go after him right away because you dont wanna drive him deeper into the woods, and you dont wanna get mauled. If the bear is still in sight though, I totally agree. Let 'em have another.

Another thing to remember is that when you're up a tree you're shooting down at an angle. You'll have to hold "higher" in order to intersect the vitals. Depending on the angle it may look wrong.

I would recommend against an iron-sighted 30-30 and instead focus on better bullet construction and better shot placement.
