Spring Shooting Video: My Tavor

Lol, have fun man,

I'd lose the get up but at least you're out there testing your gear.
Once you wear rigs and ppe for real you get sick of it fast enough.

I used to get brutal helmet headaches, and would much rather wear a skate or bike helmet myself but if you are having fun just carry on.

I use knives, guns and vehicles that are overkill because I like them too.

The shotgun is first on the list. Part of the reason I got it cheap from TSE is that the front of the barrel has never been 100% blued. I'm thinking a solid layer of arma-coat should fix that.

I have a cunning plan for the Tavor, but that's secret for now.

Fire-engine red? That would grab the eye certainly.

I've always been cagey about painting guns. They somehow look less real to me when I see them that way.

Part of the reason I never bought a camo-ed shotgun for ducks. Doesn't make sense, but its a sticking point.

I don't know if I can do this 3 week waiting period for arma-coat though. Thats a lot of downtime for me.

As far as the eastern provinces go: I am sorry for your loss. If I couldn't have a firearm in my tent, I wouldn't camp. Straight up. The bear defense thing is done to death, but the fact of the matter is I'm often out there on my own for a few days. So you bet your ass I want a gun (or two) travelling with me.

There must be exemptions in there. Who could call you a poacher with a .22 lever action?

Is ontario still free to carry non-restricted? I mean, they've got enough bush in the northern half of the province!

In NS you can have a shotgun year round but rifles are only allowed from October to the end of March.

Anybody who calls me a Mall Ninja . . . yeah you're probably right! The key difference in my mind is that I'm not super serious about what I do. But I damn well enjoy doing it. I like gear overall, and while I can apply things like "design philosophy" to the out-fit/kit-pack/gun-build,I'm not married to the idea of practicality.

The thing is, its the same kind of kit gathering as the gun:

When people ask me "Why on earth do you have a $3000 assault rifle?" the only good answer I have is "I wanted it, and I could get it, and I like it." Could I do everything that I do with the Tavor using a savage bolt gun? Yeah kindof, but it wouldn't be as much fun.

Could I do everything I do with the Tavor while wearing jeans and a t-shirt? Yeah, but it wouldn't be half as much fun.

Good points. Good video but best of all do what you like to do and as long as you're having fun, I'd say go for it.

i wear marpat shooting gopher, flecktarn at wall-mart, waterfowl in april and cadpat every days...hunting/tatical gear are comfy, build though and convenient so why not wear them...
cant wait to get my Tavor almost done paying it off!

Love your video. People complaining about what you wear are nothing but douches. #### them. As a mountain biker I think it's awesome you are kitting up and riding in the back country to go camping and shooting.

Feel bad for NB residents, I didn't think there was a worse province than Quebec for gun owners. Sad to be proven wrong. God I hope BC doesn't change for the worse.

I still wear some of my old combats from service. There used for shooting people and things comfortably and with ease. Why not use it for out of work shooting...?

Wear what you like. (you got NVG and LRF equip for that helme? ;) ) just kidding. Enjoy
