Springers ... what is everyone topping them with?

Lots of people like the Hawke scopes.
I prefer the Nikon Prostaff Target 3-9X40 AO. If you can find a used one. They have a nice thin crosshair. I have been running that scope on my HW97 for 4 years with no issues.
It depends what you are going to do. General shooting and pest control or something like Field Target competition.

I've had mixed results with Leapers. I'll second the Hawke Airmax. Theyre magnum rated. I have one on a Diana 350 Magnum, using a one piece mount for rigidity. 2000 pellets later no issues, lifetime warranty. Decent glass, thin crosshairs.

I have a Hawke Sidewinder and a Falcon scope on springer. I have emails from the manufacturer verifying they're up to use on spring powered air rifles and have full backing of the manufacturer. I have the same email from Vortex for their products but didn't end up purchasing their scope.

Buy from a manufacturer that has a good warranty and confirm it. There are a lot of scopes with good warranties out there. Do your homework.

After rattling a nice Leupold all to hell I just ordered a Hawke Airmax 3-9x40 AO AMX. Should be here in a bit. Pretty short mounting area so I hope I can fit the blocks I needed to hold the Leupold in place. I'll send the Leupold out for repair.

I use Sports Match mounts. There is a pin that goes into the mount and on the top of the rifle that keeps it from moving. Hawke scopes work well and it just so happens that I have a 4-16 for sale in the EE.

Bushnell says that their AR series, among others, scopes will handle a springer. I have my doubts about this but I'm going to find out. I've put a Bushnell AR 3-9x on my Crosman Vantage .22 and so far it is very nice. At least they have a good warranty. If it seems to be holding together on the Vantage after some time I'll try it on my Walther Falcon Hunter, I think that rifle will likely brake any scope if it is going to brake.

I bought 2 Element Helix scopes, one SFP, 6-24x50, the other FFP 6-24x50. One is on a Diana 56 TH .177 and the other is on a Weihrauch HW97 .22. Both are still virgins but what sold me were the reticles. MRAD with open cross hairs with a dot in the middle. I want to swap out the SFP with another FFP and throw the SFP on my Crossman Nitro. Checked today and the FFP is sold out.
Snooze you loose.
FFP would suck for hunting, my Crossman takes care of my squirrel problems, the other two are cordless paper punchers.

For what it's worth, I've been using various scopes on my mid to high power, springer air rifles, usually inexpensive or mid-priced scopes. They are a Diana 45, the original high powered .177 rifle, HW97Ks in .177 and .22. They have all survived thousands of shots. The scopes were not specifically rated for springer air rifles. The feature they all had in common, is a large spring you can see from the objective (front) lens.
Look into the front lens and the spring is there or not.

So I think the spring is there to absorb the double recoil shock.
