It depends on the course they setup. Usually it is a minimum 120 rifle rounds, 5 to 10 slugs, 20 buck/target shot, and 50 to 60 pistol. That is the minimum because there is no rule on on how many shots you can take. Score is based on accuracy and time. They setup multiple stages that you run through.
Scott puts on a good service rifle match too which is definately worth checking out. It makes you shoot from a variety of positions and from 100 to 300 meters. I have found my shooting has really improved because the stages are timed and I am forced to shoot from positions I am not accustomed to. Another plus is the match only takes an hour or so instead of a full day for 3 gun. It is a great time and it is mostly black rifle enthusiasts.
