SRV2 Siberian Reviews

Well, with a population of 79,247 in Kawartha Lakes, seriously, how did you come up with that conclusion?

Here's how I came up with my theory.
1) CGN is full of members who are gunsmiths, gun shop employees etc, who don't advertise because they either don't want to pay for sponsorship or don't want the attention.
2) Wildey''s profile says Kawartha area, not very far from Peterborough where BCL is set up. I dated a girl for years whose parents lived in Bobcaygeon, not far from Kawartha, her dad commuted to Peterborough every day. Depending on where in the Kawartha area he is it's not an unrealistic commute.
3) "The bolt carriers are not cast, they are milled from solid 4140" is very specific information. Nowhere on BCL's site can I find that information mentioned, and my Google-fu has come up empty. That seems too specific to be a guess, so I'm led down the path of wondering if Wildey is an insider. Or maybe knows people who are.

As always, my theory could be 100% wrong.

BCL is a manufacturer and does not sell directly to the consumer. I am just assuming here that the rifle which failed was bought from a sponsor here.

Honestly I think the information provided by Wildley was helpful for many members here and I don't see a reason why you make a conspiracy theory out of it.

A friend and I pulled the trigger… walked into the gun store and took home two Siberians. I have been loving mine. The slop between the upper and lower was easily resolved with the electrical tape trick as shown in Southern Alberta Outdoors YouTube video.

Went with a Magpul grip, feels much nicer in the hand then the stock one that comes with the gun. Since I'm a Lefty, waiting for the Ambi-Mag release to come in. As well as the extender trigger guard.

My friend and I both have been quite impressed with the rifles. They seem to fit both of us just perfectly. They feel very light. But solid. Once I did the electrical tape trick, I have absolutely ZERO play or slop, it feels like and entirely different gun just from doing that.

I ran .223 and he ran 5.56. They didn't seem to like loading .223 out of the Magpul mags. But the 5.56 ammo didn't seem to have those issues. Will dive a little further into this and see what we come up with.

I also do 3D printing. I have printed out some hexagon Mlok Covers and a low profile handstops. Really loving them on the gun.C6434A0F-FF40-41E2-9F68-0B2182795F3C.jpgB285A443-B569-4CEB-A2AB-BDA7310EBFC5.jpg

The bolt carriers are not cast, they are milled from solid 4140.

The bolt is manufactured from 9310 steel and is processed through a proprietary heat treatment process that includes carburization, black oxide, and cryogenic processes. All parts are machined on cutting edge CNC machinery allowing for top notch precision and endless repeatability.Standard AR compatible components are used in the bolt, including the extractor assembly, ejector assembly, however, the bolt body is not compatible with AR15 firearms.

I don’t know if this includes the carrier.

There is a FB group with one guy who already has over 3,000 rounds through it without problems. He only reported of some failed to fire after he installed the new firing pin and also that the pin which holds the firing pin is wandering out slowly. But this can be resolved by squeezing the end outwards. Sounds promising.

Actually, does not appear to be an issue as long as you follow BCL's installation instructions. They even put up a video on youtube.

As to the trash comment. Don't let your 5 year old use your computer.

Interesting to see the gas block has broken on this rifle. We don't know if requiring the gas block to be removed for cleaning opens the possibility for it's incorrect return and breakage or whether this is a metallurgy issue. Either way we'll keep a close eye on it and have asked OP to send us some pictures

I am excited to see your review and testing.

Is there a site or link I can follow? When will you start?

I really want to buy one of these rifles as I have had amazing luck with nea and bcl ar15/102 but this is just crazy that they released this gun without bullet proofing the design. They must know how bad their reputation is why make it worse.

I will seriously consider a Siberian when they adopt a Gen 2 with a folding Charging Handle. Until then, I wish them well with continued sales and growth. The Firing Pin rework is a glitch in the road, that is all. Nobody got hurt so no harm, no foul, as they say...

second that, gen 2 with folding charging handle. I also want SAI R18 to come out with a mod for a folding charging handle.
