SRV2 Siberian Reviews

Pretty sure the Faxon gunner barrels have a 0.625 gas journal. You’d need a 0.75 in order to use the Siberian gas block. You also need to make sure it’s a mid length gas system for the piston to be reused.

Best bet would be to organize a group buy with a domestic supplier. If it could be maintained at 2lbs and there were enough interest to keep costs at about $400 a barrel, I think it would be possible. I’m going to be measuring the weight and size of the gas hole on the factory barrel today. I’ll post the results

Siberian factory barrel weight is 2.452lbs. Gas hole size is 5/64”

Tapers from the barrel extension to 0.85” to the gas journal (0.75”) steps down from there to 0.72” to the muzzle

so...
geissele SSP single stage trigger doesnt reset, it fires just no reset.
the SD-C and SD-E triggers both work great.

anyone know who can order spare parts for the srv2?

you want a scope mount or rings (I'd steer you toward a uni-mount) that bring the center of the scope 1.5' minimum height over the rail.
If you are going with a vortex optic, a vortex scope mount is a sure bet.

X-tra high rings:

You may want a cantilever mount if you consider eye relief issues and keeping the optic mount mounted over the receiver, or if you consider future use on a receiver mounted rail on another rifle:

thank you. though i love the cantilever mount it is almost my optics price :). i will probably stick with rings x-tra high which beltfed suggested

Are all the 223/556 models 223 wylde chambered? I've see on some dealers one listing says "Wylde" while the other right next to it says ".223/5.56"...

awesome

can you post your results?

Just got around to installing the SD3G today. It installs and functions like you'd expect it to. Haven't taken it to the range to test live fire, but it dry fires and resets as expected. And holy crap what an improvement, haha.

where did you get that trigger from ? straight swap ?

Got it from a buddy. And by straight swap, do you mean that it just replaced all of the parts that came out of the gun? Yeah, that's how Geissele triggers work. They come as parts, like the mil-spec triggers. There's no housings or anything like on some of the other brands.

have you tried the single stage SSP?
mine wouldnt reset.

That... Doesn't really make sense? They're functionally identical, there's nothing really that would cause one to function properly and one to not. Unless it was installed incorrectly, or there's a manufacturing defect?

shape of the hammer. if too low profile it doesn't get pushed down far enough by the cycling bolt carrier to engage the disconnector.

SSP and Timney AR impact both have different hammer profiles, neither will work in certain semis

They appear pretty damn similar. The hook interface is different, which accounts for the rolling break of the S3G and the true single stage of the SSP. But the hammer profile, at least as it relates to being reset by the bolt carrier, looks the same, no? It would be illogical to make them different...
