Stag 14.5" AR barrel shooting 5" groups at 20 yards

We were not asked to examine the barrel, and no mention of defect seems to have been detected by the gunsmith who did look at the rifle, so I really can't comment on why it is no longer shooting accurately. I can say that both Steve and myself run guns with the same barrels, same batch, and they shoot quite well.

I asked for a RMA # so the barrel can be returned to Arms East, and therefore be examined by Arms East but was refused since the part is out of warranty.

I didn't want to imply or assume "assistance in purchasing" means there's a deal somewhere between those words. If there was any deal it was not presented in a well manner since there was no actual offer of cost of replacement barrel in the original email response from Arms East which I have fully copied and pasted in my original post.

What about putting the barrel back on the original Stag upper? perhap there is a fitment issue between the Stag barrel and the vltor upper.

Can you recover one of the projectiles and check the striations? And what about measuring the bore? Is it possible one of those <1000 rounds was a primer-only round and you shot the round out with another cartridge? I had that happen on my 10/22, ended up with a bulge in the bore.

...this is why you should probably get on the phone when dealing with potential product problems. Just sayin'. :) I hope things are back on track when you can sight in the new barrel.
