Stag vs RRA - which is better...why?

From my other post you'll know I'm considering which AR to buy...Please share with me your reasons for choosing RRA over Satg Arms or vice versa. Any other brand can weight in too...:)

Thanks, Jeff/1911.

Lets not add Dlask. Of the two which are both excellent I would go Stag because of taper pin front sights instead of straight and milpsec buffer tube, not to mention the MP'd bolt. If these are not an issue then get either and be happy.

Depends on what you want to use it for. They are both quality manufacturing. Like Sparrow said, Stag has some unique features. But RRA seems to have a wider selection of configruation.

Lets add Dlask to the question as well. :) I'm looking at getting one soon too.

  Why? The two mentioned above have more than enough configurations to keep you busy all day trying to decide which to buy. + stag and RRA are mil-spec. :) also if you call any one of the companies they can explain what they offer....... nevermind....

Cheers,

Alex

p.s. ---what took you so long to answer sparrow ? :D :D ;) ---

Have'nt handled any RR arms AR's . Have handled & fired a Stag Arms , belonging to a Club member at our Range . It was c/w/ 16 in BBL. & a special low recoil muzzle brake , Nice O.D. green furniture & collapsible rear stock.
It was SWEET ! The fit & finish was excellent, the gun was tight fitting , & with exception to the noise of the blast , the gun had the felt muzzle flip of a .22lr , "no b.s."
Compared to the four Colts I own in configurations fr. SP, to CAR-15 . It was an excellent piece!
Talk to Dangertree re; the muzzle brake , if you plan to shoot any three gun IPSC matches , double tapping would be a breeze with that gun .

from reading past posts, i was under the impression that the only thing that didnt fit on the Dlask was Thermold mags...is this not so?

Btw, hey Mike - anyone confiscate ur pokey pen yet? :D

Correct if I'm wrong here, but doesn't CMT (Stag) manufacture the receivers for RRA? If they do then you might as well go for Stag, or at least their lower assembly (for the milspec buffer tube) if you're concerned about configurations. Of course I do like the RRA logo better than Stag.

its hard to get Colt ARs now..unless used or already in stock..and theres the price issue as well.

I was suprised nobody mentioned Bushmaster?

On the twist what is better 1:7 or 1:9?

The parent company to Stag supplies most of the parts to RRA And also supplies lots to Colt. That company also refurbishes the US military's M4s. I just read a review in The AR15 by Patrick Sweeney and he basically says that a Stag Arms is probably the closest thing you can get to a Colt without buying a Colt AND without the Colt price. I just contacted ArmsEast and ordered one from Walter. The muzzlebreak it comes with was also commented on by Sweeney. He said that it was very effective and would work very well for competition.
