Have the shooter hold the 'baby' in the weak side arm and hold the rope in the strong side hand (change the scenario to a family walking in the park and call the rope a dog leash). At the start signal the shooter pulls the 'leash', drops it and then draws to engage T1 & T2 in Tac Seq SHO.

Having someone else pull the rope is what's unfair. A slight difference in reaction time to pull the rope cannot be argued if it's the shooter doing the activating.

For club level shooting we are not that anal but I can see your point for a sanctioned match.

So fairness is match level dependant?

You know what? I give up. You asked for constructive criticism but if want to ignore it because it's "too anal", then that's your problem. :rolleyes:

If you want to look at it that way it's your perogative. I did appreciate your input and am incorporating the cover for the swinger. We have a great time shooting IDPA and you are always welcome to join in if you are in the area.

No, fairness is a core group of long time IDPA shooters who host open shoots on a weekly basis and open it to all to attend and enjoy, and from what I understand, no one seems to complain.

Thank you! Myself and I am a sure a few others appreciated your tips. It's obvious you have put some serious time in the shooting sports. I can't wait to come up there on a Tuesday.
 
Great turnout! I believe it was about 13-15 shooters. Will have to check the score sheets in the morning. As promised a couple of vids for your viewing pleasure. I need to get some sleep.

We also incorporated a shotgun at the end of the stage after a few passes of the original version.
 
That was a fantastic CoF! Tested a lot of different skills. I am going to send an email to Children's Aid to find out the correct way to reload while holding a baby :) I learned a lot from some of the guys last night and met some great people that I hadn't met before. What a great time!

*Thanks Tennex, Cbabes and Valmet for letting my friend try some of your guns after IDPA and giving him (and me) some tips. I wish I could shoot like Tennex's kid...that whole family must work for csis :)
