Hello Colt Fans!
This little revolver is marked "H.E.P. Co. 77" at the base of the grip. You can see "INS" marked at the base of the grip. I don't think that's our friends at US-INS. I believe this is Hong Kong (Hongkong) Empire Police. Serial 811###, came to me wearing Colt medalion Pachmayr presentation grips that look new and are probably not original to the gun. It is also very comfortable in the full-length wood Detective Special grips of another Royal Hong Kong Police revolver I got at the same time.
There's a bit of corrosion, I can't imagine what did that. It shoots well, locks up, etc.
Proofhouse dot com is no immediate help, I couldn't find it as an Agent with that serial number. Detective Specials from '62 were in that range.
Cool stainless 12(6) Colt. My son loves it, but of course he can't have it anyway, he'll get a 12(7) one in Nickel if he behaves. Meanwhile, time to make someone else happy.
I'd be grateful for any suggestions or insights, thank you!
