Stainless hunting bolt action recommendation

Thank you all for your feedback
Winchester 70 looks a bit less common than the other options in the market

Is it good because of certain features or overall quality ?

I asked that question at a few retailers as I had my eye on a particular model and found it difficult to locate. The answers boiled down to market forces. They're not the least expensive gun around (CRF is likely more expensive to manufacture), and the price premium puts them at a disadvantage when you're comparing them to more affordable models. So, not as popular = fewer on the shelves, etc, etc. Same reason we're awash in cheap beer: that's what sells the best. Not that there's anything wrong with cheap beer of course!

Mine is .5 MOA with $33/box ammo. I really like the stock: synthetic stocks can be a mixed bag , but I think they did a great job on this one. It's under 7lbs without optics.

Pretty much ticks all of your boxes. The challenge will be actually finding one in stock.

I've got a T3x Super Lite Cerastrat in 30-06 coming from Prophet River, should be here Monday. Its a superlight stainless with the cerracote, bigger bolt handle,5 round mag and swanky stock. Comes with the brake as well as a cap for hunting and the best part is its still a 22 inch barrel and 6lbs unlike a lot of the new wave 26 inch tube'd before the brake tree snaggers they're building today. Check em out

The .308 Winchester is one of the most successful hunting cartridges in North America, and possibly the world. It has gained popularity in many countries as an exceptional cartridge for game in the medium- to large-sized class. In North America it is used extensively on whitetail deer, pronghorn and even the occasional caribou or black bear. It is also commonly used for civilian target shooting, military sniping, and police sharpshooting. The relatively short case makes the .308 Winchester especially well-adapted for short-action rifles.

I have the exact xbolt you described in the OP and I love it. Being a "true" short action makes the rifle easier to pack through thick nasty bush.

The Tikkas are nice rifles and I would have no issues owning one, but I prefer the ergonomics and features of the Browning.

I will concede that the aftermarket support is better for the Tikkas, however I have never had the desire/need to change out anything on my rifle. It came just the way i wanted it out of the box.

Of the three choices you mention, the Tikka would be my last choice but still a good one, between the X BOLT and the A7 I don't have a clear favourite, I like the A7 stock but prefer the X bolts magazine. I own all three choices at the moment.

T3 or a build on a rem 700. T3 action is lighter. Great aftermarket gear for the T3 and is possibly the smoothest action around. The Tupperware stock is useable but can be upgraded at any time. Stocks are available epoxy bedded for a perfect drop in fit for the T3, can't do that with any other action as far as I know. T1X fits in the same bedding. T3 makes the most sense.

I’m partial to Tikkas in a hunting rifle. Lots of options to customize, usually great shooters with little fussing and lightweight.

They are pedestrian, uniform and soulless but they work very well and if inclined you can dress them up any way you wish.

I agree. The T3/T3X is basically the equivalent of a Honda Accord. Thankfully that's pretty much all I'm looking for in a hunting rifle and I've been very happy with my T3.
