Stalingrad Battle of Death 3 Parts (english )

If you don"t know history then we shouldn't continue ...
"God forgive them for they know not what they do ..."

"History" is highly subjective, and is told differently based on the perspective of the speaker. The "truth" is middle line between opposite perspectives. I don't like anyone that kills innocent people without regret, regardless of how "history" remembers them at that particular moment. I have studied history all my life, and the truth is elusive, and tends to change every few decades. First person stories ring more true, but lack the full perspective of "history'.

Paulus did not have the balls to stand up to Hitler, he let himself be encircled and thus the 6th army was doomed. One of history's great military blunders.

Really!? What if the Germans developed the nuke first!? Beat that one!

The development and deployment of the atomic bomb renders all "what if" theories irrelevant.

Berlin would have been atomized and the germans would have surrendered, just as Japan did.

The same reason no nation will ever invade the US, or any other nuclear power. Peace at last, in theory.

The Germans and Japanese were doomed from the start with the allies controlling 90% of the worlds oil supply.
Only by a comedy of errors by the allies in the beginning, and a lucky start, did the Axis get as far as they did.

The Germans might have been the first to split the atom but were way off(200 pounds off) when it came to the development of the nuke, it also didn't help that they didn't have the vital resources( heavy water) to create the fissile materials they needed.

And sledge I agree the Japanese having no natural resources were screwed from the get go and the only reason they got so far was that they took china while she was having a civil war and its not hard to take a inhabited or scarcely protected atolls and islands.

The Germans were very well organized and had a very modern army ( except for the kar98s) but opted for the more complicated (tiger, panther ,way and occasionally over the top way( Bismarck, tiger II) of making and designing things wich makes excellent but very expensive and time consuming weapons of war. If anything their downfall was attacking Russia had hitler learned from Napolians mistakes he might have won. More tanks might of helped also total production was around 8000 I think vs Russia 50 000-70 000 tanks and the states 50-55000 tanks

Sure, sure. I mean, he was just a paranoid, anti-semitic, mass-murderering dictator on par with Adolf Hitler.
Maybe the Germans should change the name of Passau to "Hitlerville"...?

X2 i hate that commie bastard Stalin, i spit on his statue when i was there lol .. but amazingly 75% of the current population of Volgagrad want the city renamed back to Stalingrad ?

FANTASTIC Documentary thank you so much for showing us AL!!!! i was looking for a good Russian ww2 documentary to watch :)

When I was younger (14-23) I used to fantasize about being special forces and thought a lot about joining the army. I didn't know anything about politics and all I knew of war was what I was told, read in books and saw on the history channel. I thought it would be great to run around with guns and explosives. I felt invincible and never questioned the motivation behind WHY people were fighting. Thankfully I managed to live through my 20's and have grown older and wiser. I have a much greater respect for human life and understand that it's never the people who fight the wars who decide to go to war. Watching these videos you can see that humanity. The sociopaths and psychopaths have no problem with the killing and death but you can see the regular guys really struggling with what they were doing.

I really do think that the innocence of youth is exploited by recruiters and when you're that young you have no idea what your signing up for. You haven't developed your own ideas or opinions yet and you end up being programed by the military. I believe we should have a standing military to protect us AT HOME but when I look at stuff like Vietnam and Iraq all I see is other peoples fathers, sons and husbands being sent to their death.

War truly is hell on earth and, thought I've never seen it, I can only imagine how horrific it really is.

I agree in general, but sometimes it better to fight on enemy territory so we would never have to protect us at home.

It's a new Russian thing. They see strength, as a quality to admire, regardless of what comes with it. Look at Putin's grip on the country for decades, it makes a mockery of the democratic process, and free speach, but no-one cares, because he's perceived as strong. Since Putin came to power, there has been a lot of Stalin nostalgia, and statues are going back up, saluting the "old guards" of the communist era. Whatever. The whole species is retarded, why pick on the Russians for it. Memory is a flexible thing too, why do you think the term "the good old days" exists?

Excellent Documentary, was always more fascinated with the eastern front for some reason. My father in law will really enjoy it as well.

Thanks for posting.
