Well I'm beginning my build i call Project54R.
starting it with a 1942 izy mosin 91/30.

So far I got a archangel kit on its way,
2x 10 rnd extra mags
Timney trigger

my question after all this naus is for a sight what you all suggest between $100-$400.
Im thinking a vortex spark red dot since the mosin isn't going to be used for any crazy kinda shooting.

Looking for advice, thoughts, and if their are any purest hate for hacking this old girl up.

The True Shot mount is fitting for a build like this, available at hical.ca. Pair it with any decent optic, Vortex Crossfire II is popular.

The SPARC is a great budget red dot, but I concur with desporterizer.... It's good for CQB 25-50m, but no further. When you put a 3x magnifier on it the dot is ruddy... I suggest you look into a conventional scope. Maybe you should check the VISM scopes at Corwin Arms to keep the Russian flavour!

I agree with the OP's you would be better off, just putting a cheap LER scope on there.

The grip is a potato.

i don't think anything more hideous and insulting has ever been posted on CGN then this. good job! LOL is the potato grip custom fitted to your fingers too? also, how many shots before the potato needs to be replaced? is it at least compressed and dehydrated before you carve it into a grip? :kickInTheNuts: i'm interested on ordering a few of these custom pieces from you if they work
