Starting IPSC, new gun recommendations?

I'm currently shooting classic but with so few people shooting Classic division I am being scored in standard if I'm going to be 20% handicapped I may as well buy a decent prod or std gun...

I have stumpy fingers...

what are you running in classic? 40? get tripp mags and shoot standard, way cheaper then getting a new setup

+1 for the shadow the msrp for 899.00 but dante sports and crafm in montreal are selling them -740 or less

Shadow from Guns and Games or Crafm are your best bet. Comes with 3 mags and is new within your budget range.

+1 for CRAFM -

6 months ago I went from zero knowledge of the Shadow - to it becoming my favorite in the gun cabinet.

For a brand new buy I would consider CRAFM's 'IPSC ready' gun.

The reason being is that I had bought an 'off the shelf' Shadow and while it's a terrific gun, it can be tweaked, and it is slowly turning into CRAFM's turn key product...

I shot an xd40 this weekend, not too sure about it...I shot a shadow as well, didn't care for the trigger too far forward for my hand


I think i may stick with classic for a while yet as it seems that a few folks are planning to come out and this weekends match we had enough to make a division.

I see. I'm still on the fence about the Xd personally. Still learning how to shoot it. I did much better this weekend as compared to the previous outing I had with it.

Next weekend I'll have my freshly purchased 586. Excited.

The xd's have the most traditional 1911 grip style for polymer pistol. Look at a xdm 9 competition.
